Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

TWO SISTERS, TWO PATHS

Eighteen years had passed since Juliana's life had been turned upside down. Her twins, Ana and Amy, had grown into striking young women—same faces, same brown eyes, but very different hearts.

Ana, the younger of the two, walked through the college campus with her books clutched to her chest, her posture straight, her mind focused. She paused at a bench under a large mango tree, pulled out her Bible, and whispered a prayer for strength and guidance.

"Lord, help me stay on the right path. Help me be a light to everyone around me."

Meanwhile, laughter and music echoed from the dorm opposite hers. Amy leaned back on the grass, her phone in hand, scrolling through messages. She laughed at a joke from her group of friends—boys and girls who loved to defy rules and live on the edge. She didn't notice the professor passing by, who shot her a disapproving glance.

Ana shook her head slightly. "Some things never change," she muttered to herself.

Their younger brother, James, waved from across the quad. "Ana! Amy! Come eat before the cafeteria closes!"

Amy rolled her eyes. "Hurry up, you're going too slow."

Ana smiled politely at James. "We'll be there soon, little brother." She adjusted her bag and walked at a steady pace, determined not to let the chaos of campus life distract her.

Amy, on the other hand, stretched, stood up, and sauntered toward a group of boys who immediately greeted her with exaggerated enthusiasm. Zane, the boldest of them, winked at her.

Ana watched them from a distance, her heart tightening slightly. "I just hope she doesn't get into trouble…" she whispered.

The contrast between them was clear. Ana was studious, thoughtful, and faithful. Amy was reckless, flirty, and adventurous.

Later that evening, back at home, Juliana watched them as they walked through the door.

Amy flopped onto the sofa, throwing her bag aside. "Mom! You won't believe what happened today!"

Juliana sighed but smiled. "I know exactly what happened, Amy. You got into some trouble again."

Amy grinned mischievously. "Trouble is boring if you don't live on the edge."

Ana stepped in quietly, her voice calm. "Amy, Mom isn't mad. But you need to think about the future. You're smart—you can do better."

Amy rolled her eyes again and stormed off to her room.

Juliana turned to Ana. "You, my dear, are such a blessing. Always responsible, always thinking of others. Your father and I are proud of you."

Ana smiled but didn't reply. Her thoughts were already on her studies and the scholarship application she had to finish.

That night, as Ana lay in bed, she prayed again. Not just for herself, but for her sister.

"Lord, guide Amy. Help her see the path you have for her."

In the darkness of the room, two sisters lay under the same roof—connected by blood but separated by choices. One would soar, the other would stumble, and the events of the coming months would test not only their bond but the strength of their family.
