THE NIGHT EVERYTHING CHANGED
Juliana screamed as another wave of pain tore through her body. The delivery room was cold, yet sweat covered her face. She had never felt so alone in her life.
No parents.
No family.
No money.
Just fear.
Her mind drifted to the day her father pushed her out of the house.
"Leave! We don't raise shameless girls here!" he had shouted.
Her mother had turned away, crying but silent.
They never asked what happened.
They never cared to know the truth.
Juliana had been attacked one rainy night after work. She told no one. Shame wrapped around her like chains. When she discovered she was pregnant, she prayed her parents would understand.
They didn't.
"Push, Juliana!" the nurse urged.
She screamed again—
Then a cry filled the room.
"A baby girl!" the nurse announced.
Juliana smiled weakly through tears.
But suddenly—
"Wait… there's another!"
Moments later, another cry echoed.
"Twins," the nurse smiled.
Juliana stared at the two tiny faces placed beside her.
"My babies…" she whispered.
A tall man walked closer.
"I'm Dr. Carlos," he said gently. "You did very well."
His voice felt like peace.
