PROLOGUE
For centuries, humanity has spent lifetimes honing their unique skills. But thousands of years ago, back in the 21st century, there was a boy named Boi. His life was a constant struggle; he lacked academic prowess and possessed no specific talents or gifts. He was, by all accounts, ordinary.
His life ended as abruptly as it had lived. While walking to a supermarket, an unknown assailant took his life with a single shotgun blast. As his vision blurred into darkness, Boi died—a victim of a senseless crime.
Time marched on. In the year 5012, a catastrophic war erupted between demons, devils, and humans. Against all odds, the humans emerged victorious, reclaiming the world. In the aftermath of that bloodshed, a baby named Shin was born.
Now, eight years have passed. Shin has grown up an orphan, never knowing the faces of his parents. The villagers despise him, labeling him a nuisance because of his naughty streaks and constant mischief. But I see him differently. My name is Kevin; I have been his guardian and teacher since he was a toddler.
