Synopsis
"May the maladies of your path become fuel for your endeavours, and you the furnace in which you forge your righteous blade, my dear prince." Maritzia Auretz has nothing—an existence forsaken by the story itself. In this world, there exist those known as 'Witches', beings granted mysterious blessings from birth through covenants with living stars. Through these blessings, they are capable of tearing the very heavens asunder, defying the laws of the world. Yet Maritzia has no such thing. Abandoned at birth and left to die, taken in by his master—only for her to vanish without a trace one day, leaving him alone once more. The stars do not smile upon him. Despite this, Maritzia refuses to let go of his dream, a promise he made with his two childhood friends: To become a "Sovereign"—one of the eight absolute rulers of the world—in order to enter the fabled archives of reality, and in so doing, learn the truth behind his own existence. However, while he's spent his whole life desperately searching for a way to get stronger, his childhood friends have already become two of the most powerful Witches the world has ever seen, on the verge of becoming Sovereigns. Yet one still chooses to dwell in his basement, rejecting the outside world, while the other hasn't been seen in over a decade. This is the tale of how an orphan boy, written off by the world as a nobody, becomes the world's worst Sovereign, and brings down the very foundations of reality itself. — "It's okay, Mari. I don't mind dying... if it's by your hands."

Chapter 1 - Ø - Death of The Archivist

"My dear child... it seems you are all I have left now. After all this time, all that I've gained, all that I've lost, all those who died for me... I only have you left."

"I know you resent me. There's not a doubt in my mind that you do. After everything I've done to you, it's only fair. That's how I see it, at least."

"For so long, I've been blinded by my greed, destroying everything I've ever had in the process. The star I saw that day is no different... I just couldn't stop myself. Forgive your foolish father."

"It's a curious thing. The greediest of them all, and yet I have nothing. Perhaps that's for the best. Everything I love always leaves me in the end."

"Though... I truly do love you, Maritzia."

"That is why I must do this. I have no other choice."

"No matter how sickening it is, no matter what you may sacrifice, never let go of your Greed. My eyes, my hands, my flesh, my heart... take it all. These myriad worlds I have forged over these eight eternities, they are all yours to take... for I may never write again."

"Farewell, my littleprince."

In the vast expanse of nothingness, there lies a great archive, drifting aimlessly, housing the final remnants of all creation.

And its host, the Archivist, has died at last.

In his hands rests an open book, filled with countless blank pages, each awaiting their proper ends.

"How quaint. That old fool has finally let go, hmm? Maristrotzia iel Auretz... is it? How... curious. I wonder how far your greed will lead you this time, Laedreia."
