The Last Aetherwyn: Mated to the Alpha Prince
“You really think you can own me, Alpha?” Isaldora’s voice was sharp, dripping venom. “I’ll never bow to this bond. I despise you. You and your entire damn kind.”
Kaelith’s jaw flexed, teeth grinding, but his eyes stayed locked on hers. “You don’t mean that,” he muttered, voice low, rough. He stepped closer, heat rolling off him, his breath brushing her lips. Her eyes faltered for just a second making his lips curled into a cocky smirk. “You can say what you want, love, but you don’t despise me. Not even close.”
Her chest tightened, the mate bond pulling at her like invisible chains. She glared, fighting the hitch in her breath. “I’ll ruin you.”
“Then ruin me,” Kaelith growled, closing the distance. His breath was hot against her skin, his voice dipped lower, darker. “Every damn second you try only ties you tighter to me.”
She scoffed but it sounded more like a ragged breath. “I hate you to the core.” The words slipped out sharp, but it sounded more like she was trying to convince herself than him.
“No, baby,” Kaelith rasped, dragging her flush against him. He buried his face in the curve of her neck, taking a deep, deliberate inhale, like her very scent was his lifeline. His lashes flickered shut, and when his eyes snapped open, they were dilated—dark, ravenous, dangerous.
“Your core doesn’t hate me,” he growled low, voice thick with heat. His lips brushed her ear, his teeth grazing just enough to make her shiver. “Your core loves me—aches for me, begs for me.”
Her eyes flew wide, breath catching in her throat as he crushed the space between them, Her breath hitched as his teeth grazed her neck. She fought the moan that almost slipped her mouth.
“I’m not trapping you,” he muttered against her skin. “I’m just helping you to realize that every time you push me away, I feel you pulling me back.”
Her pulse hammered, her breath ragged — and she hated it. Hated him. Hated the way her body betrayed her. “I’ll ruin you,” she whispered again, this time softer.
Kaelith’s smirk eased into something warmer, something that made her chest ache. His thumb brushed slowly along her jaw.
“Then ruin me,” he said softly. “But stop lying to yourself about us.”
