Arjuna Muni performed a highly Radiant and rigorous practice of nirjara ( liberation) in the first century AD. Arjuna Muni was a profound ascetic who practice under the guidance of Lord Mahavira. He performed hair raising Austerities in a single life, he committed grave sins and undervent a rigorous practice that cleansed his karma.
He also practiced Austerities . A person of such asceticism is not easily found. It is also not easy to experience such a radical transformation is one's life as occurred in the life of Arjuna muni.
Before accepting the Monastic vows. Arjuna was a householder . He sold flowers. His wife's name was Bandhumati. Bandumati was a very beautiful woman. Arjuna's daily routine was to pick a flower in his Garden early in the morning. He would visit the temple of his family diety, yaksha, located in the garden, offerr prayers with flowers, and then take the flowers to Rajgriha to sell them. For generations, worship of the family diety , yaksha, had been practiced I'm Arjuna's garden .
