He nurses a glass to his lips. "The longer you feign ignorance, the more time you'll have to spend in my insufferable presence."
I turn on my heel, heading straight for the door. But before I reach it, it whomps shut violently, the entire building shuddering from the violence of it. In a matter of seconds, every door, every window slams shut, leaving me trapped in the room with him.
Wide-eyed, I look back. He hadn't even lifted a finger.
How is he doing this?
Without even sparing me a glance, he retrieves a heavy file from the chair in front of him and tosses it to the ground by my feet. The papers scatter accompanied with pictures.
My breath gets stuck in my throat as I glance at each one.
