Jayjay POV
I left the house before sunrise.
Aries and Angelo were still asleep—thankfully.
Only Aunty Gemma saw me.
She stood by the door as I slipped on my shoes, her eyes soft but worried. She didn't ask where I was going. She didn't stop me either. She only reminded me to be careful.I gave her a small nod and slipped out before questions could follow.
Before going straight to Hex, I stopped by a small shop and bought snacks—things I knew he liked. Sweet, salty, anything he could grab without thinking.
When I finally reached the house, I slowed down.
Something was… off.
Keifer's car was parked outside.
So was Yuri's.
There were bicycles leaning against the fence. More than one.
I checked the time on my phone.
9:00 a.m.
Before I could process it, I heard noise from inside.
Not just noise—
chaos.
I pushed the door open.
"—GET HIM!"
"CI-N, YOU'RE CHEATING!"
"RELOAD! RELOAD!"
"GET CI-N!"
"HEY, THAT'S CHEATING!"
"RELOAD—RELOAD!"
Toy gun bullets flew across the living room.
Hex. Ci-N. Felix. Calix. Endrix. Drew.
Almost all of them were running around, using toy guns, diving behind furniture, shouting like children on a mission.
The only ones not involved were Keifer, David, Yuri, and Eman—who were calmly helping Katherine in the kitchen like this was completely normal.
Hex was still in his pajamas.
His hair was messy, sticking out in every direction, eyes sharp and bright like he hadn't slept at all—or maybe slept too well. He lifted his toy gun and fired at Ci-N.
Ci-N dodged.
The foam bullet flew straight toward me.
I caught it midair.
The room froze.
"CHARLES NAVARRO."
My voice echoed.
Every head snapped toward the door.
Hex slowly turned around.
Hex slowly faced me.
His eyes widened. His shoulders stiffened.
"…I'm dead."
And just like that, the battlefield surrendered.
