Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Bonds Have Been Silently Etched

Kurenai Yuhi poked Qing Liu's waist, leaned in closer, and whispered, "Qing Liu, you seem to have some issue with him? Did he make you angry?"

Although Qing Liu rarely interacted with outsiders besides them, he was usually very polite.

So why does he seem to have an issue with Asuma, the son of the hokage?

Grabbing Kurenai Yuhi's mischievous hand—why was she poking his waist again?—Qing Liu whispered, "I don't have an issue. But bad eyesight really can't be solved just by changing seats. It's a sickness, and if it's a sickness, he needs to see a doctor!"

Kurenai Yuhi nodded thoughtfully, "That's right, he's the son of the hokage. If he's sick, why doesn't he go get treated?"

The Little Loli hadn't grasped the true meaning of Asuma Sarutobi's previous comment; she seemed a bit slow when it came to emotional nuances. "Who knows? People's thoughts are always strange," Qing Liu shrugged.

He looked over at Kakashi Hatake. "Look at Kakashi Hatake, the one Uncle Shinhong mentioned. It's so hot right now, yet he keeps wearing that mask. Isn't that strange?"

Kurenai Yuhi glanced over, also finding it strange. After a moment of thought, she strongly agreed, "Just like you, Qing Liu, sometimes do things that people don't understand, other people also do things that are inexplicable? I get it now!"

Applying it to Qing Liu's situation, she instantly felt she understood.

So, this kind of situation wasn't unique to Qing Liu; others also performed strange and peculiar actions.

From now on, she shouldn't think that Qing Liu has a problem with his brain, but rather that she herself is just behind the times!

Qing Liu: "..."

You don't understand squat!

When did he ever do things that people couldn't understand?

This is slander, slander! He is perfectly normal!

Since it was only the first day, there was no rush to make new friends. Qing Liu and Kurenai Yuhi chatted casually in their seats until the bell rang shortly after, signaling the start of the next class.

Young Kishimoto, the teacher, walked onto the podium, a textbook in his hand. Clearing his throat, he began, "You've all received your textbooks, right? Now, please turn to the first page. Today, I will teach you about the 'Will of Fire'."

"This is a will, a spirit, proposed by First Hokage-sama, Senju Hashirama, and it is also Konoha's most precious treasure..."

After a lot of blah blah blah, the other students listened with great interest, but it made Qing Liu incredibly sleepy.

'They just blindly promote selfless devotion, fearless sacrifice, joint effort, and prioritizing the bigger picture... Even pyramid schemes aren't this low-level; at least they offer some benefits first...'

Qing Liu shook his head. If this sales pitch were used in his previous life, even elementary school students probably wouldn't fall for it.

The propaganda wasn't hitting the mark.

They just ask you to contribute, sacrifice, and go to the battlefield without mentioning any other benefits, relying only on the hollow phrase, "For the sake of Konoha," to make people shed their blood and sweat?

However, while this approach wasn't very effective in his previous life, it genuinely worked in this world. The level of cognition was different, and the subject of philosophical thought simply didn't exist here.

For Konoha Ninja, the slogan "For the sake of Konoha" was indeed fine, especially since the Hokage truly took action when needed and didn't just shout slogans... Of course, Qing Liu definitely felt it was unreasonable. How old was he? Yet he was already being propagandized and brainwashed into sacrificing himself on the battlefield?

That's the messed up part!

Even if you start them young, you shouldn't start them like this... Over the following period of time.

Life remained peaceful.

The signs of the Third Great Ninja War had not yet fully emerged; the major Hidden Villages were only having occasional minor skirmishes, and the large-scale conflicts had not yet begun.

These were not things Qing Liu, as a student, needed to worry about.

The Ninja Academy curriculum progressed steadily, rotating through theory, physical training, insights, and history classes. It was even more intense than elementary school in his previous life... Just take ninja tool throwing, for instance; would you believe they needed to apply mathematical knowledge related to parabolic trajectories?

Fortunately, Qing Liu was exceptionally talented and learned everything quickly. Having completed nine years of compulsory education and a few years beyond that, this challenge didn't stump him!

His written exam scores were firmly in first place, followed by Kakashi in second, and Kurenai Yuhi in third... Kakashi truly lived up to his reputation as the genius from the original work who graduated at five and became a Chunin at six. Compared to the other little brats, he certainly had unique qualities, and calling him a genius was no exaggeration.

Qing Liu was even more of a prodigy. Except for the "reading comprehension" section on the Will of Fire, which didn't quite meet the grading teacher's "standards," he scored full marks on all other written tests!

He far surpassed his peers.

Coupled with Qing Liu's appearance—the red-haired shota was much better looking than the aloof masked boy and better matched the girls' aesthetic—his popularity in the class was also firmly in first place, easily suppressing Kakashi!

There were even subtle signs that Kakashi considered him a rival... This period of time spanned nearly a month.

During this time, the Ninja Academy did not hold practical lessons, focusing primarily on building fundamentals.

The students in the class had gotten familiar with each other; as if favored by destiny, the bonds between them had been silently etched... except for the addition of Qing Liu, the transmigrator.

During the break.

Uchiha Obito, wearing goggles, walked over and quietly asked Qing Liu, "Qing Liu, do you have a special study method? We have the same classes, so why are your grades so outstanding? Even that arrogant guy Kakashi can't beat you!"

Because Kakashi Hatake and Rin Nohara were desk mates, and also sat in front of him, Uchiha Obito was very unhappy. The girl he liked was sharing a desk with someone else?

How irritating!

What was even more infuriating was that Kakashi Hatake's grades were excellent, and he had overheard Rin Nohara asking Kakashi Hatake for help with questions. Could he stand for that?

Therefore, he ran over to consult Qing Liu, who had the best grades, hoping to learn his secrets. "Oh, it's Obito." Although Qing Liu didn't keep his distance from Uchiha Obito, the future big boss, their relationship was just that of normal classmates.

However, seeing the boy come over to ask a question, Qing Liu didn't pretend to be aloof. The reason his popularity was high in class was because he was kind and approachable. He shrugged, "You can't learn my method."

Uchiha Obito looked confused. "Why?"

Qing Liu shook his head and sighed, "Because it's talent. Talent cannot be learned; it's determined from birth."

Uchiha Obito didn't believe him. "Hmph, if you don't want to tell me, fine. You're so stingy!"

Qing Liu smiled, "But it's not like there's absolutely no way to improve your written exam scores."

Hearing this, Uchiha Obito perked up and quickly asked, "What method? Tell me quickly!"

"Do more practice problems. As long as you do enough of them, your scores will increase," Qing Liu said, his tone becoming profound and mysterious. "Why do you think Kurenai got third place in the written exam?"

Without waiting for Uchiha Obito to answer, Qing Liu answered his own question with certainty: "It's because she did enough practice problems. Only by accumulating small amounts can one become successful!"

Kurenai Yuhi, who heard the words "practice problems" nearby, involuntarily shivered, her beautiful red eyes showing a look of horror, as if she recalled some terrible experience.

That was hell...
