After Minato Namikaze settled Obito in another tent, Minato Namikaze and Lady Tsunade did not leave. They conversed just outside Shindai's tent, at a volume Shindai could clearly hear.
"Lady Tsunade, since Jiraiya-sensei is currently unconscious, there's something I must report to you immediately. I've received intelligence from Konoha: Konoha plans to move against the Sunagakure Ninja in the Land of Rivers. They intend to strike first, forcing the Sunagakure Ninja in the Land of Rivers back into the Land of Wind."
"Oh? Moving against the Sunagakure Ninja? When will this action take place?"
"In half a month. Konoha is currently assembling Ninja and secretly dispatching them to the Land of Rivers. Once the Ninja forces arrive, they will launch a surprise attack on the Sunagakure Ninja. Depending on the situation, we might be sent to the Land of Rivers for support."
"Alright, I understand."
Inside the tent, Shindai heard Minato Namikaze and Lady Tsunade's conversation clearly.
Then... Shindai scratched his rear, rolled over, closed his eyes, and intended to sleep.
He was exhausted from being beaten and had argued with Obito for a long time; he was dead tired now.
For Shindai, the intelligence Minato Namikaze and Lady Tsunade discussed was utterly unimportant.
Because in Shindai's view, there was no point in Hidden Sand Village deploying Ninja within the Land of Rivers.
The Hidden Sand Village Ninja's strength was inherently inferior to Konoha's.
The Konoha Ninja in the Land of Rivers were merely ordinary Ninja stationed there; there were no Leafs Sannin commanding in the Land of Rivers.
To put it bluntly, Konoha didn't take Hidden Sand Village seriously at all.
Even with these ordinary Konoha Ninja stationed there, the Sunagakure Ninja in the Land of Rivers were at a disadvantage.
Therefore, Shindai felt that whether this intelligence was sent back to Hidden Sand Village or not, the outcome was predetermined.
As long as Konoha sent Ninja to support the Land of Rivers against the Sunagakure Ninja, the Sunagakure Ninja would undoubtedly retreat back into the Land of Wind.
Since the outcome was certain, why should he bother exerting himself?
Perhaps if his intelligence proved accurate, after the Third Kazekage's demise, others aware of his spy identity might want him to continue infiltrating Konoha.
Speaking of which, the Ninja World's situation seems very tense now. The Third Kazekage should be ambushed and killed by Sasori soon, right?
He wondered who else knew about his spy identity.
This was also the Third Kazekage's own fault for trusting Sasori so much.
No, that's not right. The Third Kazekage didn't trust Sasori; he trusted Chiyo.
He had already warned him, but if the Third Kazekage wouldn't listen, Shindai couldn't do anything.
Lost in thought, Shindai fell into a deep sleep.
Minato Namikaze and Lady Tsunade waited not far from Shindai's tent.
They waited from day to night, and from night to day again.
After waiting for so long, they saw no movement from Shindai.
But how could there be any movement? After all, Shindai didn't take it to heart at all.
Lady Tsunade frowned and asked, "Minato, did that brat hear anything at all?"
Minato Namikaze was now unsure: "Probably... he probably didn't hear it. If he had, Shindai would have already summoned Shinobi Hawk to send the intelligence back to Hidden Sand Village."
Lady Tsunade 'tsk'ed, "Then go check on that brat's situation now, and I'll cooperate with you again."
Minato Namikaze nodded and then entered Shindai's tent.
Seeing Shindai sprawled out on the bed, seemingly in a super deep sleep, made Minato Namikaze's eye twitch.
Now Minato Namikaze could confirm that Shindai definitely didn't hear anything yesterday.
How could he sleep so soundly if he had heard it?
Minato Namikaze shook the sleeping Shindai.
Shindai groggily woke up: "It's Minato-sama."
Minato Namikaze asked, "I came to ask you, what do you want to eat?"
Shindai instantly perked up: "Can I order food?"
Having been at the outpost for so long, he ate whatever was made. Shindai had never heard of being able to request what he wanted to eat.
Perhaps, this was the privilege of the strong.
Minato Namikaze replied, "Hmm, I'll try my best, as it depends on whether they can make it at the outpost."
Shindai raised his hand, full of energy, and said, "I want to eat sukiyaki!"
Minato Namikaze's forehead darkened: "This is an outpost; how could there be sukiyaki!"
Shindai looked regretful: "There isn't? What a pity, I've never had sukiyaki before. Can tempura be made then?"
Minato Namikaze agreed, "Tempura is fine. Please wait for me a moment; I'll go have them make it and bring it to you when it's ready."
"Thank you, Minato-sama!"
Minato Namikaze waved his hand: "No need to thank me. In fact, I should thank you. I've heard that you managed to lead Kakashi and the others to retreat when the Cloud Ninja weren't paying attention. Otherwise, Kakashi and the others would have been in grave danger."
Shindai proudly lifted his head: "Eh, it's what I should do as a member of Konoha!"
Minato Namikaze smiled at Shindai: "I'll be right back."
Minato Namikaze left the tent and first met up with Lady Tsunade: "Lady Tsunade, I'm going to get food for Shindai now. While Shindai is eating, we'll cooperate again as we did yesterday."
In Minato Namikaze's opinion, Shindai couldn't possibly not hear while eating!
Minato Namikaze had someone make tempura and brought it to Shindai.
"Shindai, eat slowly here. Just leave the empty plate on the table; someone will clean it up later. I have to go now."
Minato Namikaze and Lady Tsunade met at their usual spot from last night.
"Lady Tsunade, Orochimaru-sama also knows that Konoha is preparing to launch an attack on the Sunagakure Ninja in the Land of Rivers. Orochimaru-sama is now tallying the Ninja within the outpost. If the situation is unfavorable during the operation in half a month, we will need to send a portion of our Ninja to the Land of Rivers."
"And if the situation in the Land of Rivers goes awry, we'll also need to send some Medical Ninja there, right?"
"That's correct. Once Lady Tsunade finishes tallying the Medical Ninja list, she can hand it directly to Orochimaru-sama."
...
After Minato Namikaze and Lady Tsunade finished speaking, they hid again, observing Shindai's tent, waiting for Shindai to make a move.
Meanwhile, inside the tent.
"Sigh, this tempura can't compare to what I eat in Konoha at all, but it's barely acceptable. After all, I'm not in Konoha. If this kind of tempura were served at a restaurant in Konoha, I'd flip their place over."
"Isn't it just driving the Sunagakure Ninja from the Land of Rivers back to the Land of Wind? Do they need to make such a big fuss? Huh? What the hell is this, a steamed bun? Steamed bun tempura? This is too much!"
Looking at the steamed bun tempura in his hand, Shindai angrily stuffed it into his mouth, bit it twice, and swallowed it whole.
"Phew, good thing. One more chew and I would have tasted it."
Minato Namikaze and Lady Tsunade outside the tent continued to 'patiently' wait for Shindai to act.
