The sands of time flowed with a slow, grinding inevitability. Sayo's theoretical repository grew deeper by the day, having devoured almost every field of shinobi science he could access. However, a core dilemma remained like an unmoving boulder in his path: How could he fundamentally re-engineer a congenitally defective body?

Through Earth Release, he understood the structural reinforcement of matter; through Wind Release, he grasped the dynamics of propulsion; through Puppetry, he mastered mechanical transmission; and through Sealing, he glimpsed the programming of energy. Even the Magnet Release data provided a blueprint for the manipulation of microscopic particles.

This knowledge was vast, but it was a weapon forged for a giant. Sayo was the pilot of a high-performance craft with a rusted, failing engine. All his theories eventually stalled at the same bottleneck—the biological energy required to drive them. To use the "Gundam" of his dreams, he first had to fix the "pilot."

He needed a power that could act directly upon his own cells, excavating potential from within and repairing his foundation at a molecular level.

This thought took root like a seed, shifting the focus of his research. He began hunting for clues related to "life," "regeneration," and "cellular biology" in the scrolls his father brought home and the dusty corners of the Academy library. The breakthrough came during a review of fundamental chakra theory, in a sentence most students ignored:

"Medical Ninjutsu is a technique based on Yang Release Chakra, supplemented by precise control to stimulate cell activity and accelerate division, thereby achieving a healing effect..."

Yang Release. Cell activity. Regeneration.

The realization struck him like a high-voltage discharge. Why had he only been thinking about external machines? Why not treat the body as the ultimate biological machine? If Medical Ninjutsu could stimulate cell activity, it could fundamentally override his congenital frailty.

But Medical Ninjutsu was a guarded specialty in Sunagakure. Information was scarce, and self-study had reached its limit. He needed a mentor—and a name naturally surfaced: Elder Chiyo. As the architect of Suna's medical system and the developer of the resurrection jutsu Kishō Tensei, she was the undisputed master of life-energy manipulation.

Sayo returned to Chiyo's house. This time, the door was opened not by the indifferent Sasori, but by Chiyo herself.

"Sayo? Is there more you don't understand about the puppet scroll?" she asked, surprised to see the pale child again.

Sayo took a deep breath and looked directly into her weathered eyes. "Granny Chiyo, I am not here for puppets today. I am requesting that you teach me Medical Ninjutsu."

Chiyo's brow furrowed. "Medical Ninjutsu requires extreme chakra control and... considerable physical vitality to fuel the process. You..." She trailed off, her meaning clear: Your battery is too small.

"I know my reserves are negligible," Sayo replied, his voice calm but absolute. "That is precisely why I must learn it. I need to change this body from the inside out. You taught me that the scale of a jutsu depends on reserves, but the precision of the repair depends on control. And my control..."

Sayo extended his right hand. He didn't mold a flashy orb of chakra. Instead, he focused his entire mental will upon his fingers. He moved them sequentially—bending, stretching, rotating—with an utterly synchronized, tremor-free frequency. It was slow, moving millimeter by millimeter with the chilling, absolute precision of a robotic actuator. This wasn't just chakra control; it was the ultimate manipulation of his own nervous system through sheer mental force.

Chiyo's gaze froze. As a master of both puppets and medicine, she recognized the terrifying talent represented by that movement. This was the "Ultimate Input"—the ability to interface with the body's smallest components without error. Many Jonin had enough chakra to level a building but lacked the stability to mend a single capillary. Sayo had the inverse.

"I may never be able to save others on a battlefield," Sayo said sincerely. "But I ask to learn the principles of life energy so I can find a way to repair my own foundation. Please, Granny Chiyo. Give me the key."

The silence in the doorway was heavy. Chiyo saw the tenacity hidden beneath his calm exterior—a hunger for survival that mirrored the village's own struggle.

"Very well." She reached into her home and retrieved a relatively new scroll. "This is the cultivation method for the Mystical Palm Technique: Initial Phase. It is the most basic training for applying chakra to a living organism. It accelerates the healing of minor external scratches, but it is useless for internal defects or systemic improvement."

She handed it to him, her expression turning grave. "But it is the first brick in the gate. Remember: manipulating life energy is more dangerous than manipulating wood or stone. A mistake here doesn't break a tool; it breaks a soul. Do not attempt anything beyond this scroll without me."

"I understand," Sayo promised, his hands trembling slightly as he took the parchment.

Leaving Chiyo's house, Sayo felt the scroll weigh a thousand pounds. It wasn't just a jutsu; it was the "Firmware Update" he had been searching for. He had finally touched the direction of his own evolution.
