When the Heavens Bowed to Evil
The sky darkened without warning.
What had once been a battlefield soaked in lightning and tribulation suddenly grew unnaturally silent. Then—
a presence descended.
It was not a demon.
It was not a Saint.
It was something far worse.
"It's… it's the Evil God!" Saint Lu Qi cried, his voice breaking. "How is this possible?!"
A wave of terror swept through the sect. Disciples trembled violently; some fell to their knees before the enemy even struck. This time, no one believed they would be spared.
The Evil God did not speak.
He attacked.
The space itself shattered as his power surged forward. Xiao Yan was slammed into the ground like a fallen star. The shockwave ripped through the disciples—blood sprayed from mouths, inner cores shattered, bodies faded into nothingness. Even Saint Lu Qi staggered, coughing blood as his knees buckled.
Xiao Yan forced himself up.
Another strike came.
He fell again.
Again, he stood.
Again, the Evil God struck—relentless, merciless—until Xiao Yan could no longer stand on his own. His body trembled violently; bones screamed in agony. Around him, Saints gasped for breath, their strength drained, their eyes filled with despair.
"Even the Ansha isn't here… and we're still dying," Nem muttered grimly.
Those words pierced Xiao Yan's mind.
So this… is a greater enemy.
With a roar that tore through heaven and earth, Xiao Yan rose once more. When the Evil God attacked again, Xiao Yan twisted the force—reversing it.
The Evil God crashed into the ground.
Before anyone could react, Xiao Yan leapt into the air, hands weaving ancient seals. Dark clouds rolled in, swallowing the sky whole. Lightning poured down like divine punishment, annihilating the remaining demons.
The Evil God tried to resist—but failed.
With a furious roar, he escaped into thin air.
Silence followed.
Xiao Yan descended, staggering, and immediately moved among the fallen. Golden light flowed from his hands as shattered cores healed, wounds closed, lives were restored. Saints and disciples stared in disbelief as strength returned to their bodies.
Mi-An rushed to him.
Then Xiao Yan collapsed.
"Xiao Yan!" she cried, catching him as he fell. "You just ascended… and used such power… please, hang on."
Holding him tightly, she carried him toward his quarters, fear choking her heart.
