Jackie woke up later as he heard some sort of weird noise outside. His eyes looked around before opening the window in confusion before hearing a strange bang which made him jump. He put on his dressing gown and closed the window before going outside of his room and noticed that it was pitch-black in the hallway. Great, it was his first day here and now strange things are happening since yesterday with no explanation. Jackie rubbed his eyes quite tiredly before he heard another bang as he looked in a bit of fear and heard someone opening the door with a familiar voice called out "Melina, is this your doing?" Jackie recognised it as Lily who just got up from her room.
"No not me this time." A child-like voice calls from the darkness as the lights turned on. The three of them were standing in the corridor as they both noticed that Melina was covered in confetti as her grey eyes looked with confusion as Jackie asked "You were up doing paper crafts again?" As Melina nodded as Jackie sighed and asked in a slightly annoyed tone "When are you ever going stop these things that you do in the middle of the night?" As Melina just gave a chuckle. Soon the three of them heard another bang as they agreed to investigate on what is going on outside. They went down the stairs before opening the door.
They entered outside as the air was warm as they felt the wind blowing through their gowns. It was dark despite that as Melina ran forward as Jamie and Lily started to investigate, they were on the stepping stones as they walked across the path outside. Soon Lily said to Melina "I'm sure you a did that bang." As Melina shook her head and both of them started to bicker as Jamie noticed that there was streetlights that shined brightly. There was a dull yet bright orange hue across the streets and stars could be somewhat seen in the night sky. It was a very bright and intriguing scene as dark clouds were slowly moving across the sky. Jamie looked towards where the bang came from as he walked slightly into the darkness.
Both of them stopped bickering and looked curiously on where Jackie was going as they followed him. They quietly went through the place before going further into a place that they shouldn't be going into. After a bit Jackie asked turning around "Are you two here?" As Melina yelled "Yeah!" As Lily gave a excited yep sound in the darkness. Jackie nodded before hearing some footsteps. He looked in confusion before hearing footsteps as Melina and Lily stopped as Lily asked a question "Is someone going at night?" Before Melina said something ridiculous about the person as Jackie disapproved her question. Jackie soon walked into the forest before asking "Does someone have a flashlight?" As Lily nodded and turned it on as they smelt a horrible foul smell as it made Jackie grimace and his younger relative cover their noses. They went in deeper before the smell became more stronger.
Soon they arrived at where the horrible smell was as Lily shone her flashlight downwards as their eyes widened as they saw a dead body in the grass. The dead body had been shot 3 times in a row with two being in limbs and one being in the chest. There was a small pool of blood coming out of the body as it was uncomfortable to watch for someone who has never seen death before. Lily immediately felt like throwing up at the sight, Melina looked scared and worried while Jackie felt nervous as he felt sweat fall down his face slightly. Jackie soon said "Lily and Melina, get Mom and Dad quickly. Someone committed a murder today." As Melina asked "Will you be alright?" As Jackie nodded and began examining the murder scene as they both left.
After a while, he heard the leaves crunching before hearing a strange sound and suddenly feeling a burning pain through his chest. Jackie coughed before suddenly looking downwards and saw that his chest was bleeding as the bullet fell out of his skin. He had been shot as he turned instantly and tried to see who was there as his eyes couldn't notice anything without the flashlight as he yelled "I know someone is there!" As he heard a fast sound of running and sound of a trigger being pulled. Jackie dodged just in time although he was losing energy from the loss of his own blood. He heard another shot dodging him since he was on the floor. He looked upwards hearing footsteps running before hearing his mother and father walk through the bushes. And when they saw Jackie, they ran over him before helping him sit up.
"What happened?" Alina said worriedly before Jackie struggled to say "There was a murder nearby me... And I got shot." Jackie coughed as his father turned to the body and sighed "Our son's right. Someone seems to have been killing." Alina tried to calm herself down as she tried to help cover the wound with her clean hand so not a lot of blood would come out of it. Jackie panted as his Dad began calling 999 as he chatted with the ambulance and police. Soon Alina yelled loudly "LILY AND MELINA! GET THE FIRST AID! QUICKLY." As two minutes later, Melina arrived with bandages as Jackie felt the energy drain from himself as Alina grabbed the bandages and quickly bandaged him up. Jackie felt all sound suddenly went quiet as his eyes slowly blinked as he saw he saw his family looking from above in worry. Jackie felt the world spin around himself as he fell unconscious and for a moment heard a faint heartbeat beating slowly...
