Inside the training room, the man took off his hat and introduced himself formally.
"I am Marlon, one of Count Hazzard's emissaries," he said, extending his hand.
Edward shook it out of politeness. "What do he have for me, His Majesty the Count?" he asked, puzzled.
There were only two things that made him familiar with this man: Hazzard's enmity with Ashford and the fact that Count Hazzard owns the mines where his father works.
Other than that, he had never seen him before.
'Could this have something to do with my father?' Suddenly, his heart felt slightly heavy.
"I would like to ask you first, do you know Abraham Lux?"
Edward felt even more pressure and frowned. "He's my father," he replied. "Has something happened?"
"Oh, no, no." Marlon waved his hands quickly when he saw that Edward was overthinking things. "His father is a great miner, the best we have. If anything happened to him, we'd be in trouble for a while." He joked a little.
