--------------------------

A long, tired groan escapes Ruby's lips as she treks through the Emerald forest with her friends. They had been walking for hours trying to locate some kind of disturbance that Ozpin picked up in the forest where she and her friends had taken their initiation. They walked as one unit with their weapons in hand ready for anything that comes their way. However, it had been a very boring few hours. Some Grimm did appear to be slain but other then that. Nothing. Ruby had hoped that something interesting would happen or they'd find the disturbance, but her expectations were being torn to shreds with each passing minute. But this was a task they needed to complete as it came from the headmaster of Beacon Academy. Yet she couldn't help but complain.

"Where is this thing!?" Ruby complained with exaggerated gestures. "We've been out here for hours!"

"We were given a big area to search, you should've expected this, Ruby." Weiss criticized.

"I know." Ruby whined. "But I thought we would've found it by now."

"I'm with my sister on this one." Yang comments. "Whatever this disturbance was, we should've found it."

"Maybe we aren't searching correctly?" Jaune suggested. "Have we searched any caves nearby?"

"We haven't even found a cave yet." Blake comments.

Ren then spots something and points his gun at it.

"Found one." Ren said.

The two teams turned towards where Ren was pointing and saw a cave. Inside the cave there was a faint blue glow coming deep within the cave. The group looked at each other, debating what to do next.

"Think that's the source of the disturbance?" Yang asked. "Caves don't just glow like that."

"I hope it is." Nora says. "I want something interesting to happen."

Ruby leads them towards the cave as they all follow her with their weapons ready. As they enter the cave, the glowing light gets brighter, causing them to stop before it dies down a little. They press on and go further into the cave, eventually they have to turn around a corner and when they do they see something that confuses them greatly. It was a glowing crack hovering in the air. It wasn't connected to anything, and it was like a tear in reality. The two teams looked at one another, unsure what to do with this discovery.

"Is… this what we've been looking for?" Pyrrha asked.

"Maybe." Ruby comments in uncertainty.

This crack then pulses with energy sending it out around the chamber around it. This stunned the two teams who raised their weapons. Then, the crack in reality began pulling in things surrounding it including Team RWBY and JNPR. The eight students of Beacon Academy tried to fight against it but no matter what they did it seemed useless as they kept being pulled towards the strange anomaly. The first one to enter the anomaly was Ruby.

"RUBY!" Yang cried out before running into the anomaly after her sister.

One by one, the students were pulled through the portal with Pyrrha being the last one to enter it. After they all vanished, the crack in reality repairs itself and disappears leaving the cave to go dark. Silence followed shortly thereafter.

[Earth]

Laying on his bed, David was thinking about the world. Something he rarely does but after reading some history books, it got him thinking. The year was 2250 and the world couldn't be in a better place. It's been 200 years since the United Earth Federation rose to power and ever since the world has experienced unprecedented growth and prosperity. However, it wasn't smooth sailing once the UEF formed back in the 2050s, other attempts to counter them emerged such as the Independent States of Asia and the Middle East Collective. But by 2250, those two entities no longer exist. The ISA has completely fallen apart, and the nations soon joined the Federation. The MEC faced a similar fate, but whatever remains of them is just in militant factions actively fighting the Federation. Even 200 years later, remnants of the Old World still linger and must been cleaned up. Other than that, the globe has seen all kinds of growth, and it could almost be called a utopia if it weren't for the remnants of the old-world order. It's an amazing time to live and David was amongst the lucky folks of the world.

Born in 2233, David grew up in the city known as Pax and it was one of the new cities founded by the Federation all those years ago. His family weren't exactly famous per say, but they were rich enough to live comfortably. David's father—Thomas—was a soldier in the United Earth Armed Forces and his mother—Claire—is a scientist who works closely with the family friend, Dr Zeke Walker. His family lives on a hill overlooking the city and their home is big. Well, their house just so happens to be a mansion. It was given to his family as a gift by the Government for his father's time in the UEAF and his mother's contribution to the world. The Williams Family has made some strong friends in their time, and those friends have helped them greatly in the long run. He then hears a knocking at his room's door which brought him out of his thoughts. He sits up and dangles his legs off the side of his bed.

"Come in." David said.

The door opened and he could see his father, Thomas. He was a tall man, and he still had the hair cut he got from his time in the UEAF. He has good physique as expected of a former Military man.

"Hey, Kiddo." Thomas greets. "Your mother isn't going to come home this weekend unfortunately."

"Let me guess, Zeke and his weird theories?" David asked.

A soft chuckle escaped the lips of Thomas.

"No, not this time." Thomas replied. "All she could say was that they both are on the verge of discovering something big."

"Something big? What could that be?" David asked.

"Don't know. But hey this gives us more time to spend one and one time." Thomas said. "You still need to beat my score in the range."

They have a shooting range underneath their home. The Williams house expands underground and it's where the shooting range is as well as Claire's personal lab. There were other things down there, but David spends most of his time in the main portion of the house.

"I'll beat your score one of these days, old man!" David said with determination.

"Hey, I'm not that old yet." Thomas responded.

"Whatever you say, Dad." David said with a smile.

"Sorry to bug you guys… but we have a proximity alert at the front entrance." A voice is heard.

Thomas and David looked at the source of the voice and saw a green holographic figure in a WW2 US Soldier uniform.

"What do you mean Cole?" Thomas asked.

Cole is a highly advanced AI Unit created by Zeke Walker to aid the Williams family but mostly Claire. He quickly became a member of the family despite being an AI.

"Well one second the sensors are fine but suddenly the front entrance proximity sensor goes crazy." Cole said.

"Could it be a malfunction?" Thomas asked.

"That's what I'm currently checking to find out." Cole said. "I suggest you head to the front entrance to see what could be causing this on your guys' end while I work my magic."

"Will do, thank you Cole." Thomas said.

"No prob." Cole said before his hologram vanished.

"Well, son. Wanna see what this is?" Thomas asked.

"Sure."

The two then leave the room and make their way to the front entrance of their home. Once they arrived, the sight they saw confused them. There were eight people with colorful outfits lying on the ground with weird looking weapons. Thomas motioned for David to stay put while he approached. Once he reached these people, he knelt down to check on them. He checked for a pulse on each of them and discovered that they were alive but most likely unconscious.

"David, help me get them to the guest room." Thomas ordered.
