"Get off!" he roared, his voice resounding through the silent room.
He shoved her away with enough force that she tumbled back toward the edge of the mattress. Sofia's eyes flew open, wide and filled with instant terror as she scrambled to sit up, her breathing coming in frantic gasps. She looked disoriented, her hair a wild mess, her hand still tingling from the heat of him.
"What—" she stammered, her face turning a deep, humiliated crimson as the memories of her dream started to collide with the cold reality of Damien's shaking, enraged form standing over her.
The dream. Did I say it out loud? Please, God, tell me I didn't say his name.
Damien stood by the bed, his chest heaving, his hand hovering over his groin. His eyes were cold enough to draw blood.
Confused, Sofia stared around, realizing she was seated on Damien's bed, but before she could put the pieces of how she got there together, Damien yanked her out of the bed and slammed her against the wall.
