As everyone knelt down on one knee before Lucien, a familiar voice suddenly echoed.
"Wake up…"
That genderless, chilly voice spoke as Mai immediately snapped out of it.
"Wait… what?" Mai murmured in shock.
She didn't know what had happened. All she remembered was her consciousness blurring the moment she saw those five awakeners kneel before Lucien.
She was shockedbut it had already happened.
"…Observe him… be closer… the time is soon…" the voice spoke once again.
Mai lowered her head like the others.
Although she didn't understand what was happening, one thing was clear.
The entire shelter now obeyed Lucien.
She had to as well… or else.
"Lucien… what have you become exactly?" Mai thought as she cast a glance at him.
