Chapter 13 - It's time for me to venture into the Dungeon
"We can add this money to the bounty on the Rudra Familia, but this is a special case and will not be repeated!" Royman said solemnly, trying to show his authority, but his exaggeratedly body only made him look ridiculous.
According to the rules, they couldn't do this. The Guild cared more about the optics. If anyone could add money to bounty quests, it would become an assassination board.
But since that person had spoken, all rules had to take a backseat.
Royman looked at Ryuu with a mix of surprise and doubt. How exactly did the other party convince Ouranos?
Having received a satisfactory reply, Ryuu left behind a bank draft for 80 million Valis and turned to leave.
Lain, who had been hiding in the crowd, also quietly disappeared.
But everyone knew that this turmoil had only just begun. The Rudra Familia had used some unknown means to destroy the Astrea Familia.
What would be the final outcome of Astrea's counterattack?
Ryuu and Lain met in a secluded alley, and she asked, "What do we do next?"
"Wait!"
Lain told her that his plan wasn't complicated; it was Ryuu who underestimated the prestige of her own Familia.
The Astrea Familia frequently fought against the strong and helped the weak, and together with the Ganesha Familia, they maintained order in Orario. They played a significant role in the Great Feud two years ago.
Even five years later in the anime, during the great battle with the Freya Familia, the moment Ryuu appeared, the residents and adventurers of Orario were moved.
Now that the entire Familia was wiped out, they would use the reputation accumulated by the Familia to create a tragic persona and win everyone's sympathy.
With another 80 million Valis, the anger combined with the benefits would be enough to send Orario's adventurers to besiege the Rudra Familia. The Rudra Familia would either be hunted down to death or agree to the War Game, allowing them to be eliminated in one fell swoop.
"I'll be going now!"
This plan needed time to develop, and there was nothing they could do for the time being. Lain waved his hand and left.
"Where are you going?"
Ryuu glared at him. If this bastard ran away, was she supposed to deal with the Rudra Familia all by herself?
Lain turned his head slightly and smiled, "Don't look at me like that. I'm just going to the Dungeon!"
"???" Watching Lain's dashing figure retreat, Ryuu realized she couldn't keep up with his train of thought, and she had to return to her home to report to Astrea.
The Guild Headquarters wasn't far from Babel, and Lain soon reached the spacious plaza.
Many people saw him and Ryuu arrive at the Guild. The Rudra Familia wouldn't receive the news so quickly, so he still had some time to go to the Dungeon and unleash the desires he had suppressed for the past ten years.
In theory, only adventurers who have registered with a Guild can enter the Dungeon, but generally speaking, no one would be foolish enough to go to the Dungeon just to die.
The Ganesha Familia members, responsible for guarding Babel and the entrance to the Dungeon, were too lazy to check each person individually.
Lain stood tall and proud, much like a rookie bursting with confidence after receiving his Falna.
The seasoned veterans around him smiled, already mentally calculating how long this fool would last.
Fortunately, Lain had received a scabbard with the sword he obtained from the system; otherwise, with a rookie holding a blade worth hundreds of thousands openly, it was hard to guarantee that no one would be tempted to rob him.
The member of the Ganesha Familia frowned, wanting to remind the other party, but in the end, it turned into a sigh. People became numb after seeing this kind of thing too many times.
The moment Lain entered the Dungeon, the childlike expression on his face vanished without a trace.
Although he had been in Orario for more than half a month, this was his first time entering the Dungeon.
Things were different now. Thanks to the system's favor, he now wielded the iron sword, the mystic ice blade, and the wind chaser boots.
Lain needed to test himself in the Dungeon.
The 1st Floor of the Dungeon was a passage formed by stone walls, with light blue walls and ceilings that dominated the entire field of vision. This natural labyrinth, stretched endlessly in all directions.
The stone walls were made of an unidentified substance resembling Magic Stone, emitting specks of phosphorescence that illuminated the surroundings like lamplight, making it as bright as day even without the sun.
Suddenly, the wall in front of Lain shattered, and three or four Goblins jumped out. They had green skin, sharp ears, and brown eyes that gleamed with ferocity.
They charged toward Lain.
Goblins coming toward him.
Far from frightening Lain, an excited smile appeared on his face.
Back in his hometown in the Kingdom of Rakia, Goblins also roamed the forests. Lain was quite familiar with these monsters; their strength were similar to those of an adult human.
Lain drew his sword, its blade gleaming and reflecting the Goblin's hideous face.
The Goblin charged forward mindlessly and bit down.
Lain stepped back to create distance, and after seeing the Goblin's movements clearly, he swung his sword at it.
The sharp blade struck the Goblin, easily cleaving open its forehead and tearing its slender body apart.
As it turned out, Lain had underestimated the sword; in the upper floors, it was practically a high tier weapon.
His movements were swift and decisive and in the blink of an eye, all the goblins were slain.
