After a fair bargain, Estadey finally got some clothes for herself and her mother. She also came across a small bakery.
The delicious aroma of freshly baked bread hit her nose and a grumble was heard from her tummy. Without hesitation, she started approaching the bakery.
Suddenly she stopped, her feet were rooted on the stone paved path. Her wrist felt hot then she felt traces of an object being formed. It felt like a hand. Big and rough against her skin.
Estadey didn't see anyone around her.
She felt like a statue because her body was stationed in place, her mouth was sealed tight and all she could move was her neck.
The grip on her wrist became painful to the point where her fingers turned a dark shade of pink and her hand became partly immobile.
Turning to the source of pain, there was nothing seen. Fear creeping in every muscle of her body. Then her breathing became shallow followed by a throbbing headache.
Her heartbeat raced so fast it felt like it was fighting to break through her ribcage and pop out. The feeling in her chest became unbearably painful.
She tried to scream, move or cry but none of that happened. The gripping sensation became tighter as if planning to break the bones in her hand. Her breathing became labored.
The terrible thing about her problem was that people were like they weren't seeing what was happening to her. As if she was invisible. Beads of sweat fromed on her forehead.
Her body started to tremble from the excruciating pain she was feeling. "Help...please...anybody, I'm ab..about to die."she internally pleaded with whoever would see her.
Tears trickeled down her face. Her surroundings were spinning in a way of closing in on her ,her vision blurred with making things worse, the headache felt like it was crushing her skull.
Her knees buckled, head hitting hard on the stone paved path. The clothes scattered to the ground and Melanie's meds fell along with her passed out body.
Nearby people saw a girl faint and they rushed to check on her. After a while the small gathering became a big and chaotic crowd. "What did you do to her !" a fish monger angrily asked the baker.
"Why are you asking me, she has clothes in her possession not bread."the fat baker anxiously denied the blame. "The baker's right." a thin man added while pushing some people out of his way.
The clothing women sat near Estadey. Two were fanning her and the one in middle lay Estadey's head on her lap.
Worry etched the features on her face when the villagers started accusing her of witchcraft.
"Move people, the doctor's here, move !"a man with a loud and audible voice shouted out. "Out of the way people, you're already making her condition worse." the doctor said while pushing people out of his way.
Passing through the chaotic crowd, he froze .The girl looked familiar but the main reason was how stupid the villagers were.
