Chapter 224 - Chapter 224 : First Victory

The port in the outer district of Commorragh, which the Human Empire used as a breakthrough point, was called Swamp Port and belonged to the White Flame Kabal.

After the self-destruction of a warship and the saturation bombardment by the Imperial fleet, this area had turned into a scorching sea of fire.

The surging flames swept out, illuminating the entire Dark City.

The scalding heat waves and thick smoke caused the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari and slaves to constantly scream, fleeing in all directions like headless flies.

Illicy, the highest Archon of the White Flame Kabal, was awakened by the deafening explosions.

He climbed out of bed, where several lovers lay, and pulled out a poisoned blade from under his pillow.

Being an Archon of a Kabal in Commorragh was a very dangerous job; one had to remain vigilant at all times.

Even when indulging in pleasure, one had to be on guard, or else they wouldn't even know how they died.

Illicy stepped over the torture racks used to enhance bedroom pleasure.

On some of the torture racks, several bloody slaves, not yet fully dead, were still bound.

Their continuous groans of pain sounded like beautiful music to Illicy's ears.

Illicy walked to the window and immediately saw the towering flames outside.

Half of the port district had been reduced to ruins, with countless buildings burning.

A huge gap had been forcibly torn open in Commorragh defense system.

One Human warship after another appeared in the sky, pouring firepower onto the ground, with explosions rising and falling in succession.

"What happened?"

Illicy looked bewildered.

How was it that when he woke up, his territory was burning?

And how did those humans get here?

Which Kabal messed up and caused such a huge commotion?!

Footsteps sounded.

A panicked Kabal warrior hurried in.

"My lord, the humans are advancing towards us…"

His subordinate's report revealed the full story to the Archon.

"What did you say? Humans have invaded Commorragh?"

Illicy's eyes widened, and he looked at the warrior with disbelief.

How dare those monkeys!

The Drukhari / Dark Aeldari were the overlords of the galaxy, its absolute masters.

Didn't these humans fear incurring Commorraghfull retaliation?

At this moment, sharp alarms blared throughout Commorragh.

From the bellies of the Human warships, countless brilliant meteors appeared, like a goddess scattering flowers.

They plummeted directly to the ground, landing with deafening impacts.

The terrifying force created exaggerated, deep craters on the surface.

These meteors were none other than drop pods made of steel.

Due to high-speed friction with the air, their surfaces bore numerous charred marks.

Amidst the hiss of high-pressure gas, the charred, heavy hatch doors opened.

Red-eyed demons, clad in heavy armor, emerged.

Wielding bolt guns and plasma pistols, they fired at the xenos in their sight.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Gunfire constantly rang out.

Drukhari / Dark Aeldari attempting to approach were hit, their bodies shattered by the powerful bolter rounds.

Large numbers of Primaris Space Marines were deployed to the battlefield for the landing operation.

Commorragh buildings were too dense and sturdy.

Bombing alone would not be enough to completely destroy the city.

To capture such a large-scale city, ground troops were still needed to fight their way through, bit by bit.

The residents of the Dark City joined the battle, swarming in like sharks drawn by blood.

Ordinary civilians, armed with splinter rifles, fired at the Primaris Space Marines from various hidden corners.

The splinter rifle was the most common firearm in Commorragh.

Everyone had one, even newborns.

The magazine of this gun was a complete crystal of ammunition containing neurotoxin.

Once loaded, a decomposer within the gun would split the crystal into fragments, which were then electromagnetically accelerated to supersonic speeds and fired.

This rifle had strong penetrative power.

Unfortunately, this time they were facing Primaris Space Marines.

Primaris Space Marines had not only received physical enhancements but also upgraded equipment.

They used harder armor plating overall and possessed deflective shields that could effectively transfer the kinetic energy of high-velocity bullets.

The splinter rifles of the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari civilians could only create ripples on the Primaris Space Marines' shields.

However, the Primaris Space Marines' bolt guns and plasma pistols could easily tear through their bodies.

"Go! Go!"

"It's war!"

"Long live the Human Empire!"

"Emperor's Cannon Fodder is awesome!"

"For Demacia and Tifa!"

"For Queen Morgana!"

"…"

The Players, led by the Emperor Niuma Battle Group, shouted various strange slogans.

After receiving the order for the landing operation, they also entered the blazing battlefield.

On the battlefield, the scorching flames caused the surface temperature of their armor to rise sharply,

causing plumes of rising steam to swirl around them,

causing slight distortions in the air.

Coupled with their crimson eyes,

they looked like demons emerging from hell.

The moment Tenjiro landed, he unleashed a terrifying Warp shockwave.

The nearby Drukhari / Dark Aeldari were all sent flying, crashing far away.

"Invincibility~ is so lonely."

Tenjiro turned on his external speaker, playing his chosen BGM.

Warmaster, Sea Turtle, Twisted person, and other Players who landed with him heard the music playing,

and their eyes all widened.

"Awesome, you're like Qiao Feng carrying a stereo when you enter, right?!"

"We both had nine years of compulsory education, so why are you so outstanding??"

"How did I not think of bringing BGM to the entrance?? Damn it, why is your brain so good?!"

"…"

Tenjiro tilted his head, looked up at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle, and said in a smug tone,

"That's why you guys don't think as far ahead as I do."

"Powerful heroes always need BGM to set the mood."

"Without your own exclusive BGM, no matter how powerful you are, you're just cannon fodder passersby."

Warmaster: "Next time, I'm getting one too."

Twisted person: "Me too, damn it, how did I not think of showing off like this?"

Sea Turtle: "Tenjiro's abstract talent is terrifying; with just a slight move, he creates an insurmountable chasm for us."

"…"

The discussion about BGM did not last long; the Players soon dispersed to find enemies to fight.

"AVAVAAVA"

A one-eyed humanoid monster with several fleshy tentacles on its back appeared before Tenjiro,

emitting strange screams at him.

"Jellyfish?" Tenjiro frowned, recognizing this bizarre creature.

Jellyfish were strange creatures that lived in the Webway,

a spiritual parasite that perfectly combined rationality and sensibility, coexisting with its host.

They looked like a mixture of a self-aware brain and spinal cord,

floating in the air like jellyfish, feeding on the dreams and emotions of intelligent beings.

They could traverse both the material and immaterial realms simultaneously.

Parasitized creatures often mutated to have a single eye in the end, making them one of the few psychic units among the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari.

The Jellyfish unleashed a black lightning bolt, striking Tenjiro, but it was blocked by his shield.

Then, Tenjiro extended a hand.

Invisible psychic power lifted the creature.

The Jellyfish tried to resist.

With just a thought from Tenjiro, the psychic power violently squeezed its body, causing it to let out painful wails.

"Experience the art of the headshot."

As his words fell,

the Jellyfish's head exploded.

Tenjiro waved his hand, and the twitching, headless corpse was flung away, followed by a low roar.

Turning his head, he saw several Drukhari / Dark Aeldari, holding neurotoxin whips and wearing multi-holed masks, standing on a flying vehicle.

They were cracking their whips, driving dozens of bizarre-looking beasts,

which charged towards his location.

"Beastmaster? Clawed Fiends, Aetherhounds?"

Through their long evolution, the Eldar had acquired various incredible abilities.

Beastmasters originated from ancient shamanistic thought.

They were born with the ability to control lower-level creatures.

The masks they wore were also equipped with complex sonic emitters and pheromone synthesis tubes, which helped in controlling the beast packs.

Aetherhounds were the most common helpers of the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari.

Although they bore the name "hound," they had no relation to dogs.

Their terrifying appearance was enough to make a legendary investigator's SAN score plummet.

Aetherhounds had sharp bone spurs or thick tentacles growing on their backs, multiple eyes on their smooth foreheads,

sharp teeth, and a snake-like tongue with a barbed tip.

Clawed Fiends, on the other hand, were the Beastmasters' favorite war beasts.

They were a hybrid of gorillas and bats,

possessing six eyes and incredible hearing.

Their claws were comparable to monomolecular blades, capable of easily slicing through steel.

"Fools, you know nothing of true power."

"Do you think you can win by relying on numbers?"

Tenjiro's eyes glowed with an ethereal blue light,

and arcs of electricity crackled around his body,

like a true god made manifest.

The next second,

countless ice-like Warp fragments materialized out of thin air, numbering over a hundred.

"Feel death."

As his words fell, hundreds of ice-like Warp fragments suddenly erupted, instantly streaking across the sky towards the Beastmasters and their war pets,

piercing their bodies instantly, leaving bleeding holes, and they fell dead.

Tenjiro stepped over the shattered corpses, seeking new enemies.

Old Thirteen, on the other hand, had encountered the creations of the Haemonculi.

A Grotesque, assembled from muscle and bone, launched a savage charge at him.

The Grotesque was massive, comparable in size to him in his heavy armor.

On its bulging, thick back, remnants of injection devices and virus injection tanks could be seen, and its face was covered by an iron mask.

Its hands had been severed and replaced with sharp metal claws and sprayers that could eject poisonous pus and blood.

Bang!

Old Thirteen withstood the impact from the opponent.

The immense force made him feel as if he had been hit by a fully loaded heavy truck traveling at 120 km/h; his internal organs vibrated violently.

His armor, moreover, issued a series of warning alerts.

"This guy!!"

Old Thirteen took a breath, then suddenly let out a low roar.

He unleashed a terrifying psychic shock.

Like a flood, it was immensely powerful, falling entirely upon the Grotesque.

The terrifying force sent the opponent flying directly away.

It crashed into a wall covered in sharp blades, instantly being impaled through and through.

Sharp blades pierced its forehead and throat.

However, the Grotesque's vitality was terrifying; even wounds that would kill an ordinary person a dozen times over did not instantly kill it.

It struggled for a while before finally breathing its last.

The Players continuously encountered Commorragh elites.

But relying on their powerful physiques and superb combat skills, they achieved continuous victories, pushing deeper into Commorragh.

One fortress after another.

One street after another.

The areas they controlled expanded rapidly at a visible speed.

"Dare to invade my territory like this? Do you take me for a dead man?"

"Immediately assemble my troops; we must reclaim the areas occupied by the Humans."

Illicy the Archon looked at the battle situation map, his expression growing increasingly grim.

He quickly assembled his elite personal guard.

Witnessing the defeats on various battlefields, he decided to act personally.

He would slaughter those Human warriors who had parachuted in.

He would capture those bastards and then slice them into pieces.

And during this process, he would keep those guys conscious the entire time.

He would let them experience the despair and pain of being slowly dismembered while alive.

"Kill! Kill! Kill! Chop! Chop! Chop!"

Wrist Bro roared continuously, his voice filled with fury.

He couldn't hear the shouts of the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari.

His ears automatically filtered out those sounds; only the sound of weapons cutting through air, tearing flesh, and the wails of enemies could enter his ears.

"Blood for the Emperor, skulls for the Golden Throne."

Wrist Bro enjoyed the pleasure of mowing down his enemies.

Those Drukhari / Dark Aeldari were no match for him; he completely overwhelmed them in terms of both strength and reaction speed.

Hiss! Hiss!

A burly serpentine creature slithered out from a dark corner, wielding a power sword covered in electrical arcs, and slashed at Wrist Bro.

The serpentine creature used its strong snake-like lower body to support its torso, which had two pairs of arms.

Its back had glowing barbs, and its head was identical to a snake's, with sharp venomous fangs.

Thousands of years ago, the serpentine creatures, like the Eldar of old, had indulged in excess and become irredeemably depraved, thus becoming one of the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari's favorite species.

Their scales were hard, able to withstand most melee weapons.

Furthermore, their minds were not very bright, so the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari liked to employ the serpentine creatures to do their bidding.

After all, any Drukhari / Dark Aeldari with a normal mind knew not to turn their back on their own kind.

And loyal, obedient serpentine creatures were the best choice.

Wrist Bro dodged the serpentine creature's massive blade and moved behind it.

The serpentine creature's third and fourth hands each held a pulse pistol.

It aimed the muzzles at Wrist Bro and pulled the triggers.

The muzzles shot out a cyan beam, which was blocked by Wrist Bro's shield, merely causing ripples.

Wrist Bro, holding his chainaxe, struck the opponent's snake tail.

The high-speed rotating teeth tore at the tough snake scales, sending sparks flying.

But the scales were eventually torn open, and the axe bit into the serpentine creature's flesh, severing its snake tail.

The serpentine creature let out a cry of pain.

It turned its body, attempting to counterattack.

However, just as it turned, its head was blown apart by the boltgun in Wrist Bro's hand.

"Kill him."

Illicy drew his blade and pointed it at Wrist Bro, who had killed the serpentine creature.

He now only wanted to tear apart every Human he saw.

His personal guards whipped the Webway Ghoul—Ur-Ghuls—with neural whips.

When they roared in anger from the pain,

They would release the chains that bound them.

Ur-Ghuls' skin was as hard as steel, with astonishing resistance to damage.

At the same time, their bodies were incredibly flexible, allowing them to enter various confined spaces.

Their teeth were incredibly sharp, capable of biting through Astartes Power Armor.

They were immensely strong, capable of overturning heavy tanks.

"Blood for the Emperor, skulls for the Throne."

Wrist Bro strode forward, his roaring chainaxe covered in a crimson glow.

The Webway Ghouls, which bullets could not penetrate, were cut open by the chainaxe as easily as slicing melons and vegetables.

Crimson blood and organs scattered everywhere.

In just a few breaths, he had cut down the charging Ur-Ghuls, turning them into a pile of broken wreckage on the street.

The Drukhari / Dark Aeldari who had attacked alongside them left some scratches on Wrist Bro's armor.

The price, however, was being cleaved open by the axe in his hand.

Seeing his subordinates fall one after another, Illicy took action himself.

His speed was like a ghost.

The long blade in his hand was enveloped in a hazy glow.

Its poisoned, sharp edge only needed to make a cut on an enemy's skin to kill them.

"Madness! Utter madness!"

Wrist Bro roared, also rushing towards the Archon.

Clang!

A sound of metal clashing rang out.

Illicy only felt his hand go numb.

He suddenly regretted rushing forward so hastily.

The opponent's immense strength made him fearful.

Wrist Bro was unaware of the opponent's thoughts, merely launching attacks relentlessly.

The heavy axe swung out continuously, each strike powerful and weighty, causing whooshing sounds.

The sharp axe blade aimed at Illicy's vital points.

The Archon continuously swung his sword to block.

The two weapons collided, producing clanging sounds.

Clang…

After another clash, Illicy's weapon flew out of his hand.

The Archon looked at his weapon, which had landed in the distance, then raised his head, just in time to see Wrist Bro standing before him.

The opponent looked down at him, not bothering to conceal his killing intent.

Illicy revealed a smile that was uglier than a cry.

"Actually, we don't necessarily have to resort to fighting and killing."

"Everything I did before was for a reason."

"If possible, I want to be a good person from now on."

Wrist Bro ignored the opponent's chatter, swung his axe downwards, and split the opponent in two.

Seeing their Archon slain by a Human,

The remaining warriors and Wychs of the White Flame Kabal turned pale with fright and fled in all directions.

Their escape caused a chain reaction.

The morale of the remaining Drukhari / Dark Aeldari collapsed; they no longer fought to the death but screamed and fled the battlefield.

And the Warmaster and other Players pursued these Drukhari / Dark Aeldari, allowing these evil beings to experience the despair of their former victims.

Fulgrim stood on the Bridge of the flagship, the Imperial Immaculata, his gaze cold as he overlooked the battlefield.

Numerous data screens floated before him.

The data surging every second was enough to burn out a human brain directly.

Only an extraordinary being like him, who inherited the Primarch's genes and received the Emperor's completion, could process this data with ease.

The Imperial Fleet had subjected the key artillery positions and fortresses on the surface to saturation bombardment, opening breaches.

The deployed God Chosen had cleared landing zones, and more troops were about to descend.

The tactical communication tower had been erected, making battlefield information sharing more convenient.

The breach in the enemy's direction had been opened; the next step was to intensify the offensive, expand the battlefield, until the entire Commorragh burned.

Fulgrim stared intently at the battlefield situation map, making adjustments to the God Chosen troops.

They were the Empire's spearhead, the battering ram.

Knowing how to use them effectively was a mandatory lesson for every Imperial commander.

In Commorragh central tower district,

Vect, through his intelligence system, had insight into everything that had happened at the Swamp Port.

When he saw the Archon of the White Flame Kabal killed,

And the entire situation collapsed, he cursed Illicy as a good-for-nothing, who had collapsed so quickly and lost his life.

"Immediately send the elites of the Black Heart Kabal into battle, and inform all factions in Commorragh to dispatch their troops and fully stop the Humans."

Vect gave the order, committing the strength of the Black Heart Kabal.

This order was very effective; the retreating Drukhari / Dark Aeldari quickly halted their rout after the Black Heart Kabal warriors joined the battle, and reassembled.

Support from other Kabals soon arrived.

They combined their forces, intending to launch a counterattack and reclaim the fallen areas.
