Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: Meeting The Devil

[Champa City, Kingdom of Anga]

[Congratulations host for gaining Higher Divinity of War]

Suddenly a blood-red aura emanated from Karna, enveloping him in its crimson glow. His aura pulsed with newfound power, and he could feel the Higher Divinity of War coursing through his being, granting him abilities and knowledge beyond mortal comprehension.

"҉S҉o҉ ҉Y҉o҉u҉ ҉g҉o҉t҉ ҉T҉h҉i҉s҉ ҉D҉i҉v҉i҉n҉i҉t҉y҉ ҉E҉a҉r҉l҉i҉e҉r҉ ҉T҉h҉e҉n҉ ҉I҉ ҉T҉h҉o҉u҉g҉h҉t҉,҉ ҉B҉u҉t҉ ҉I҉t҉ ҉G҉o҉o҉d҉ ҉T҉o҉o҉ ҉K҉e҉k҉e҉k҉e҉k҉e҉k҉e҉"҉

The voice that echoed in his mind was sinister and filled with bloodlust, sending shivers down his spine. It was a presence unlike any he had encountered before, and it seemed to revel in the chaos and destruction that war brought.

"Are you War God's Constitution from before?"

Karna's question hung in the air, the weight of his newly acquired Higher Divinity of War seemingly inviting a response from the enigmatic presence that had manifested within him.

"҉Y҉o҉u҉ ҉c҉o҉u҉l҉d҉ ҉c҉a҉l҉l҉ ҉m҉e҉ ҉t҉h҉a҉t҉,҉ ҉b҉u҉t҉ ҉I҉ ҉a҉m҉ ҉m҉o҉r҉e҉ ҉t҉h҉a҉n҉ ҉j҉u҉s҉t҉ ҉a҉ ҉c҉o҉n҉s҉t҉i҉t҉u҉t҉i҉o҉n҉,"҉ the sinister voice replied, its words seeping into Karna's thoughts like a venomous whisper. "҉I҉ ҉a҉m҉ ҉t҉h҉e҉ ҉e҉m҉b҉o҉d҉i҉m҉e҉n҉t҉ ҉o҉f҉ ҉w҉a҉r҉ ҉i҉t҉s҉e҉l҉f҉,҉ ҉t҉h҉e҉ ҉b҉r҉i҉n҉g҉e҉r҉ ҉o҉f҉ ҉d҉e҉a҉t҉h҉ ҉a҉n҉d҉ ҉d҉e҉s҉t҉r҉u҉c҉t҉i҉o҉n҉,҉ ҉t҉h҉e҉ ҉f҉u҉r҉y҉ ҉t҉h҉a҉t҉ ҉f҉u҉e҉l҉s҉ ҉w҉a҉r҉r҉i҉o҉r҉s҉ ҉t҉o҉ ҉b҉l҉o҉o҉d҉s҉h҉e҉d҉."

Karna felt a chill run down his spine as he realized the true nature of the entity within him. It wasn't merely a constitution or an aspect of the divinity of War; it was the embodiment of war itself, a force that thrived on chaos, bloodshed, and destruction.

He couldn't deny the power that came with this newfound divinity, but he also understood the responsibility that accompanied it. The Higher Divinity of War was not to be taken lightly, and it was his duty to harness its power for the greater good and prevent it from consuming him.

"҉R҉e҉m҉e҉m҉b҉e҉r҉,҉ ҉K҉a҉r҉n҉a҉,҉ ҉t҉h҉a҉t҉ ҉w҉a҉r҉ ҉i҉s҉ ҉a҉ ҉d҉o҉u҉b҉l҉e҉-҉e҉d҉g҉e҉d҉ ҉s҉w҉o҉r҉d҉,҉҉҉" the sinister voice continued, its tone filled with ominous wisdom. After saying that the sinister voice fell silent, leaving Karna alone with his thoughts and the pulsating power of the Higher Divinity of War coursing through his being. It was a moment of profound reflection for the warrior-king.

"Is it a coincident first 'Blade of Chaos' and now this 'War Divinity'?"

Karna couldn't help but wonder about the timing of these rewards. The acquisition of the Blade of Chaos and the Higher Divinity of War was certainly no coincidence.

It felt as though some unseen force or entity had orchestrated these events, leading him down a path of increasing power and responsibility.

The aura slowly subsided, leaving Karna in a state of contemplation. He knew that he needed to make choices about how to wield this newfound power.

The ominous voice within him had made it clear that the Higher Divinity of War was a double-edged sword, capable of both glory and destruction.

Just then, his advisor returned with a drafted message to King Dhritarashtra of Kuru, addressing the concerns raised about Anga's actions in the region. Karna took a moment to read the message, ensuring that it conveyed their commitment to peace and cooperation.

"Send this message to King Dhritarashtra immediately," Karna instructed. "Let him know that we are open to diplomatic discussions and that our actions are aimed at ensuring stability in the region."

The advisor nodded and left to dispatch the message. Karna knew that diplomacy was crucial at this juncture, and he hoped that it would help alleviate the concerns of their neighbouring kingdom.

"Master, I am back."

Vritra appeared in front of Karna on his knees but paused and started actively smelling the air around Karna.

Karna, still immersed in thoughts about his newfound powers and the responsibilities they carried, looked at Vritra with a curious expression. The dragon's behaviour was unusual, and Karna couldn't help but inquire, "Vritra, what is it? Why are you smelling the air?"

Vritra, his reptilian eyes narrowing, responded in a low, cautious tone, "I sense War divinity, Did Indra come here?"

Karna's eyes widened in surprise at Vritra's revelation. The dragon's heightened senses had detected the presence of War divinity in the air.

"Actually it might be coming from me," Karna admitted, realizing that the blood-red aura and the sinister voice were likely responsible for the presence of War divinity. "I've acquired the Higher Divinity of War."

Vritra's eyes widened in astonishment. "You... you possess the Higher Divinity of War? That's a power that even the gods themselves would covet. You must not use it lightly. Otherwise, Indra might sense it and will do anything to kill you because now you have the right to become the King of Gods due to having divinity of War in its higher form which was unheard of."

Karna absorbed Vritra's words with a mixture of astonishment and concern. The implications of possessing the Higher Divinity of War were far more significant than he had initially realized. It wasn't just about personal power; it carried the potential to challenge the very hierarchy of the gods.

"Vritra, your warning is noted," Karna said with a serious expression. "I will exercise caution and discretion in how I use this power. The last thing I want is to provoke a conflict with the gods. But I also won't shy away from defending my kingdom and its people if the need arises."

Vritra nodded, his draconic features showing a mix of concern and approval.

"Is your reunion over yet?"

Karna turned his attention to the source of the new voice, and there, standing behind Vritra, A handsome boy around 17-18 years old from the look of it, dressed in black and red robes.

Karna regarded the newcomer with a mixture of curiosity and caution. The boy's sudden appearance and attire were quite unusual, and Karna couldn't help but wonder about his identity.

"Who are you?" Karna asked, his tone polite but guarded. "And how did you come to be here in the Royal Palace of Champa City?"

The boy smiled, a mischievous glint in his eyes, and he responded in a confident manner, "I go by many names, but you can call me Lucifer Morningstar."

Karna couldn't help but be taken aback by the name "Lucifer Morningstar." It was a name that held a great deal of significance in various mythologies and folklore, often associated with the fallen angel or devil figure in his previous life.

"Ah! Those eyes, You recognised me haven't you?"

Karna's gaze remained fixed on Lucifer, his thoughts racing as he tried to process the implications of the figure before him. The name "Lucifer Morningstar" was indeed familiar from his previous life's knowledge. It was associated with various mythologies and stories of a fallen angel or devil who defied divine authority.

"I recognize the name," Karna admitted cautiously, his guard still firmly in place. "But it's not every day that one encounters a figure of such significance. What brings you to Champa City, The devil himself."

Lucifer narrowed his eyes and lunged forward suddenly, appearing right in front of Karna with uncanny speed. His smile turned into a frown as he spoke in a low, "How do you know me? When I am not even from this realm? Even I didn't know about other realms than my original one. Say what do you hide in this little brain of yours."

Karna, while taken aback by Lucifer's sudden movement and proximity, remained composed. He understood that the being before him was not to be underestimated.

"I can't tell you, Lucifer Morningstar," Karna replied evenly.

"Oh, so it's like that huh~ It's alright keep your secrets."

Lucifer Morningstar leaned back, his demeanour shifting from intense curiosity to a more casual, almost nonchalant attitude. He crossed his arms and tilted his head slightly, studying Karna with an amused expression.

"Well, well, Karna, the Warrior-King of Anga," Lucifer said with a hint of a smirk. "You certainly have a fascinating aura about you, and I can't say I expected to find someone like you in this realm. But I suppose secrets make life more interesting, don't they?"

Karna remained wary but decided to engage in a more diplomatic conversation. "Indeed, they do. You've mentioned you're not from this realm. What brings you here, Lucifer Morningstar, if you don't mind me asking?"

Lucifer's smirk widened, and he gestured casually with his hand. "Oh, you know, a bit of punishment, a dash of redemption, and a sprinkle of curiosity.," he replied cryptically. "Can you imagine dad threw me here while saying 'Feel the pain, Know the pain blah blah,"

Karna couldn't help but find Lucifer's casual demeanour and cryptic words both intriguing and perplexing. The mention of a divine figure as "dad" and Lucifer's reference to punishment and redemption hinted at a complex backstory.

"I see," Karna replied thoughtfully. "Well, you seem to have quite the story behind you. If there's anything you seek or require during your time here, please don't hesitate to let me know. Champa City and the Kingdom of Anga are open to those who come in peace."

Lucifer chuckled softly, his demeanour shifting once again, this time to a more friendly and approachable tone. "You're quite the gracious host, Karna. I appreciate the offer, and who knows, I might just take you up on it.
