The moon shimmered its light on the massive roof, its bluish light created an ethereal background, the twinkling stars and shimmering green nothern lights created a warm presence ,from miles away the very soft but slightly pitched whooshing of cool breeze could be felt. One could hear celebrations echoing in the city of Xara , the people were celebrating the festival of peace it had been many decades since peace had been restored in the Lyxam empire in the continent of Antara , the decades of war had been long and hard but now life was worth living this time though the empire was ruled by tyranny there was still peace , the war known to as the great purge had claimed many lives of different beings though being ugly the human race had emerged victorious and the forces of evil had been vanquished by the global defense guard which was led by the Azure Dragon sect but now the empire had been taken over by the mystic phoenix sect the rival sect.
A young man of about 18 years old sat on the roof of the grand inn, he being a mooner. he admired the radiance of the moonlight ,he looked at the shimmering skyline of Xara city beyond it were the mountains which blocked other cities. The mountains were as high as 3000m, a hulking figure enclosing the city like a dome. Due to the great war most of the borders holding together the earth had broken down thus formation of the grand seven continents of the world. Antara being one of them. The young man was only 5 foot 7 with long purple hair and twinkling violet pupils, his face was boyishly handsome and his body was that of an athlete , a sophisticated purple star mark was etched onto his right palm he considered it his birthmark since not even his parents could decipher what it meant, the young man's name was Ren lee 5 years ago the mystic phoenix sect had overthrown their clan and slaughtered everyone he was lucky to have escape at all ever since he had become a cold and vengeful person
he was so occupied that he did not notice , the silhouetted figure advancing towards him, when he had finally gained the sense of realization , the silhouetted figure pounced on him wit a warm hug , her body warm on his, the breeze blew his shinny purple hair which had been tied to a ponytail, she flicked a strand of her thick golden blonde curly hair, her emerald green eyes were burning with flames of delight.
"Reyna what the hell? you almost scared me to death!"
he said flashing a smile at her Reyna chuckled
"what's the master Romeo are you scared of your Juliet!" she joked chuckling a bit more
Reyna's full name was Reyna Wilhelm . she was the daughter of a rich tycoon in Xara city and one of Ren's closest friends. They met after the demise of Ren's sect ever since they had become friends , soon after Ren was taken by one of the former maidens of the lee palace who had served them well and was treated well by the lee clan thus for a good service she earned a lot she was one of the most influential people in the city her name was Shania but Ren called her nanny since she raised him ever since he was a kid. Reyna sat beside him and they watched the moon together , never had Ren told Reyna about his past. Ren turned to look at Reyna and a smile plastered on his face.
"wow!"
He exclaimed his smile not even dwindling. Reyna looked at him half puzzled half worried
"why are you looking at me like that Ren?!"
she asked him anxiously touching her face
"do you see what I see ?" he asked her still smiling
"no not really" she answered quizzically. Ren just continued smiling "why are you looking at me like that or is there something on my face...stop it! she exclaimed more anxious
"I wish you could see yourself right now" he retorted
"why?"
"Coz you are absolutely gorgeous and am sure angels like you don't come from around here
She blushed while looking away
"what tha...stop that Ren you're makin me blush!"
He pulled her towards him facing him directly
"hey don't look away from me coz I like admiring your face, okay?"
she smiled ,"okay"
Unexpectedly then pulled her into a long French kiss. The moment was marvelous and Reyna did not want it to end but it was cut short by a high pitched scream which pierced the air , Ren unsheathed a blade which had been strapped on his waist and dashed down , Reyna could not believe her eyes the whole place was in flames, bodies with decapacitated heads lay everywhere , people had been ruthlessly murdered by a gang of assassins but they were not normal assassins Ren could feel them exuding a powerful dark aura just as he was about to act. Suddenly a freak storm erupted and and the whole place was bathed by a powerful dark aura , a blade of dark energy shot out and slashed him countless times . Reyna couldn't take it anymore she shouted on top of her lungs
"STOP IT YOU'LL KILL HIM!!"
A short blade with white ancient markings was striking through his gut , blood was oozing out profusely , he groaned in pain , his violet eyes glazed , using every ounce of his energy left in his body he tried to crawl away but the dark light reappeared and slashed him continuously , blood splattered all about creating large patches of crimson on the ground , Ren's sight became blurrier and blurrier ' his breathing became ragged , suddenly a voice thick ,deep and menacing
"so that's your girlfriend and best friend eh Ren?1"
Ren spoke though struggling
"don't...you...dare...touch her...you...p...p...prick!"
"even in the state of death you are still are an arrogant son of a b****don't worry I'll make it quick and painless"
a darkly chuckle followed
"REYNA...NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
but it was too late , it happened so fast a blur at first, Ren could see Reyna's desperate face sweating and sobbing uncontrollably but when he blinked her eyes were oozing blood and a deep cut was running from her chest to her stomach, her eyes were fully bulged out and blood was oozing out profusely , the light then disappeared and so did the assassins but a massive soul energy could still be felt, there mission was done
Ren crawled to the lifeless body of his dear love. Thunder rumbled and lightning crackled he tried everything he could from mouth to mouth to trying to force her heart to wake up but all his efforts were in vain, slowly tears dripped from his eyes , his emotions then suddenly detached , the sky became dark purple and the star tattoo lit black a much more evil and menacing aura manifested it was as if evil had descended , he let out a piercing and agonizing scream tears of pain and bitterness oozing out of his eyes , the blood of his beloved was covered in his hands, the despair turned into hatred ,anger and sadness quelled in him an aura of immense bloodlust and vengeance manifested inside him. He then drifted to a state of death.
