"Now the question is where do I start? what spells do I want to Try to create first? I should probably start with collecting the different types of magic like I did with bending. Yes let's do that and worry about the spells afterwards."
Tako smiles as they hold out a clawed hand with what is the dragonkin index finger pointing up. (Dragonkin have 3 fingers and a thumb or rear talon.) Tako starts the 4 squared breathing and imagines a small flame above the claw while gathering mana in their fingertip. Then the speak as they exhale. "Small Flame!" a little flame like that of a small candle or a lighter appears above their finger and 2 notifications pop into their head.

The Dragonkin flashes a goofy, giddy, satisfied gin and giggles stupidly before clearing their throat and repeating the process. Only this time they picture a little swirling sphere of air. "Air ball!" and a small ball of barely visible air appears in the same spot as the small flame did previously and slowly blows itself out. Two more notifications pop into their head.

Satisfied it is working as intended they move onto water next. "Water Ball!" A small floating sphere of water appears and is quickly dropped into the pan. and the notifications are ignored. Next they try light magic. "Light Ball!" A small sphere of light appears and notifications are ignored as it gets dispersed. Next up is shadow magic. "Shadow Ball!" Then Darkness "Dark Ball!" Then poison, "Poison Ball!" Then lightning, "Lightning Ball!" Then Cloud, "Cloud Ball" Then barrier magic, "Small Barrier!" Same results same ignored notifications. Their mana is dropping one point at a time but now they are out of magic that they can imagine conjuring from nothing. At least on a small scale that is.
Tako decides to try spatial magic for a moment. How Tako decides to do that is by creating a small gate big enough for their hand to go through. First they picture a spot by the wall with some grass. then they focus on a spot right in front of their outstretched hand. Next they picture the two points of pace connected as if you folded the space like a piece of paper. Finally they focus their mana on that point of folded space and picture a small gate appearing. "Gate!"
Silence for a moment, then a small blue circle appears as if painted on the air just big enough for a hand. Tako holds their breath as they reach through watching their arm disappear into nothingness. They feel the grass, gab a handful and pull it back through. "Success!" They happily exclaim quietly as the gate disappears. "Spatial Magic achieved! I'm gonna double check the notifications just to make sure"

"Hahahaha Yes! It's real! I really did it! wait do you know what this means? I have to check this out." The dragonkin interrupts their celebrating to outstretch their hands and close their eyes regulating their breathing once again. They picture a gate only this one connects to a small pocket in space like inflating an origami box between the layers that are the normal planes of space. Only it doesn't effect reality because it doesn't exist on this plane, It's more like connecting a piece of paper to a box that is only around for that purpose. It's out of the pile of papers but that doesn't mean it's hard to connect to. Finally when they are confident in what they are picturing and in the energy gathered they breathe out and speak.
"Storage!" and a new gate appears. "Okay step one complete now lets see if it works." Tako grabs nearby rocks and logs and gathered plants and puts them through the gate. everything successfully goes through. "Alright so far so good, Now lets test retrieving items." As soon as the words leave Its mouth a list of the items it just put in appear in Its mind. It decides to summon a flower and a the flower pops out of the gate and lands on the ground.
The dragonkin grins and starts to celebrate as they spit all the items back out of the storage and dismiss the storage gate. "Success! Although it looks like that is quite mana consuming, 20 mana for just a single spell." They say as they quickly check their mana. "That figures, storage is often a hard spell to learn and acquire. At least in all the stories on earth, or well most of them. In fact it is often so hard to obtain that magic storage items are way easier to obtain despite often being rare and Hard to acquire."
"Now that I have had my fun lets get back to learning new types of magic. Let's try Metal magic it would be fun if on top of metal bending I can use Magic on metal too and I know just what I want to be the first spell." Tako leaves the Tree and goes away from the roots and over to a part that is just hard dirt. There they start stomping and punching the ground for a few minutes until they can sense flecks of Iron in the area around them.
Satisfies Tako stops Stomping and punching while holding onto the sensation of the Iron flecks in the soil. They hold out their right hand index finger up like before and start their breathing like normal. They picture their mana reaching out and pulling every bit of Iron within a 10 foot radius into a ball above their hand. "Gather Iron!" Suddenly there is a small rumble as tons of flecks force their way out of the dirt. 10 feet was probably to big of a radius to start because that also means 10 feet straight down. As they say hindsight is 20/20 Tako collapses for a second as the last of their mana drains and a 1 1/2 foot wide sphere of Iron lands on the ground in front of them.
"Oops." Is all Tako says as they lay on their back and close their eyes focusing on digestion and accumulating energy again. but they find that their energy has returned and is actually full and bigger than before. All of this magic and skill and spell creation and everything else they have been doing basically non stop has been worth it. They leveled up again but Tako still won't check their full status without the other clones. That just wouldn't feel right.
"But hey this means we don't need to fight to Level up, even if fighting is the easier route. I mean I got 2 levels in a couple of minutes fighting rabbits as opposed to over a day of nonstop work and grinding. Also I feel like I probably have a slight unfair advantage, don't know why, but I feel it. Either way lets work on the wall and gather more Iron while we are at it."
The Dragonkin stands up and flies over the wall and lands in the center of the moat and holds out their hand open palm out and pictures the area the width of the moat 10 feet and 5 feet deep and as far as they can see along the curve, about 40 feet. they do their breathing and gather their mana. "Gather Iron!" with a rumble iron flecks start flying into a sphere in front of Tako's hand and they gather and gather until the sphere is almost 4 1/2 feet wide and resting on the ground.
"Well that's big and I don't think that i can carry it let alone fly with it. I also don't want to blow my magic on using storage but luckily I have my storage bag on me" Tako says storing the sphere with a smile. "Now lets use earthbending to dig this section out and add it to the wall." And so they do as they say and repeat the process 2 more times until they are out of magic.
Then they sit down and digest while focusing only on gathering mana and in a mere 30 minutes, their mana is full again and they do the process another 3 times. And go eat more and digest again and repeat the process until they are out of bending a bit over 3/4 of the way around the moat. Then they fly back into the area and walk inside the tree, gets some more to eat. then focuses on working out and accumulating energy again. An hour later they finish up the moat and fly back in and but they do not enter the tree, it's the start of sunrise the other 2 should be waking up soon but first Tako still has energy to use.
A thought of one more type of magic to unlock pops into Tako's mind. Dream magic. Okay 2 types of magic but Tako is pretty sure they can do healing magic alone. Tako decides to enter the tree and goes over to the two sleeping clones, and places a hand on each of their heads. Then they do the 4 squared breathing while imagining sending good dreams into the minds of the 2 sleeping clones. Finally on one of the exhales they send their mana and create another spell. "Pleasant Dreams!" They smile as 2 notifications pop into their head as the mana leaves and enters the minds of the other 2 clones. The clones smile in their sleep and Tako walks away grabbing the knife on their way out.
Tako walks a bit away from the tree and breathes as they prepare themselves for what they are about to do. Is doesn't take much preparation as they almost immediately drag the knife blade across their palm drawing blood. They set their knife down and hold their right hand above the cut on their left palm. They do the breathing like always and imagine their mana sealing the shallow cut. Then they breathe out as they speak the singular word. "Heal" And they let a devilish grin as they watch the cut mend itself as if by magic. Because it was, it was literally magic, healing magic. Emphasized by the 2 new notifications appearing in the mind of the dragonkin clone.
"Well that is about all of the magic I can Imagine being able to do for now without the help of someone else or a proper education. Not all the spells but the different kinds of magic. I have no Idea how to go about summoning or spirit magic. And I don't have anything to try to tame. And enchantments or rune based magic and talisman magic I haven't the faintest clue on where to start. But I still have plenty of energy and there is always something to do so why don't I start on other preparations for now."
So they pick a spot near to the wall, leaving a gap for a running track, and decide to build a proper old fashioned clay furnace with earthbending. After that they build a furnace for soft metals, then a proper forge for the metals that require higher temperatures. Then they empty the Iron spheres out of the spatial storage bag and use one of them to create a large anvil and a small anvil and a few other essential tools like hammer, and tongs, and pokers, even one axe, until bending runs out.
Then they use the rest of the magic to grow thick straight roots that will be perfect to carve into points and bury in the moat. Yes they could have grown them pointy, but they didn't want to neglect woodcarving and knifework just because of magic. they also prioritize growing a wooden ladder for the wall. And finally around the time the dragonkin is getting close to finishing cutting the roots down with the metalbent axe, the other two clones leave the tree and come join Tako for the sunrise.
The three clones use the ladder to climb onto the wall despite having the ability to fly and enjoy the sunrise while accumulating more energy. No point in wasting time when it's easy to relax and recuperate at the same time. An hour later with full energy and after the sun has risen Hiper breaks the silence. "Thanks for the pleasant dreams and on top of that it was amazing to watch the sunrise right after those dreams. So how about we top it off by checking our status and admiring all the work we achieved yesterday and last night?"
