"I wonder if Ivar is alright, it's been a while since he went out," his mother wondered. She didn't know that her son hadn't gone out and that he was in his room imagining a world where nothing would hold him back, a world where he wouldn't be forced to conform to the rules that this society had put in place.
"IVAR!!!!!! Get out of this room, I haven't seen you all day!" his father shouted at him.
"What would I give to be independent?" Ivar said to himself.
He went back up the stairs and went to see his father.
"I'm here, Dad, hello, Mom," he said.
"You were here all this time and you didn't even bother to say hello to your parents. Even Sigi isn't like that," said his mother. "And by the way, how is he? It's been a while since I've heard from him," said his father.
Ivar is an 18-year-old born into a family of four; he is the eldest son, followed by his brother Sigi. Ivar has barely begun his university life, but he's already fed up with it because he doesn't know anyone there and isn't very outgoing. He prefers staying home reading webtoons or manga, watching anime, and playing video games rather than trying to have a full and fulfilling life.
Sigi, his younger brother, is 17 years old and also starting his university life, but unlike his brother he was studious and much more popular and had a girlfriend called Lucy, Sigi was a sporty and very friendly boy.
Their father, an entrepreneur with a passion for Norse mythology and the Vikings series, named his sons Viking names with great symbolic meaning.
Their mother was a nurse but also a very caring mother.
Ivar, preparing for university, had a strange sensation; he felt nauseous and had dizziness and muscle pains. He told his mother, who advised him to stay home and rest.
Sitting in front of the TV, he heard a noise upstairs and went to check, "Who's there?" shouted Ivar
"Your worst nightmare!" shouted Sigi and jumped on him.
"Why aren't you at university?" Ivar asked him.
"Because you're not there," Sigi replied. He was worried about his brother, because even though they were very different, they were very close and shared everything.
"So you feel better?" asked Sigi.
"I don't know, I feel like needles have been inserted all over my body, and you, I imagine you're not here for nothing, what happened?" asked Ivar.
"Well, almost the same thing," replied Sigi, followed by a dull thud and flashes of light.
"WHAT WAS IT?SIGI, ARE YOU OKAY?Ivar shouted, but there was no reply.
Part of the house had just collapsed and the earthquake was still ongoing; he noticed that it was completely dark outside even though it was only 8 o'clock.
"BUT WHAT IS GOING ON?"Ivar wondered.
