Dinner passed in an unusual silence.
PK finally looked at the three of them seated at the dining table and asked calmly,
"What's wrong with you all? You've been unusually quiet. Did something happen?"
The twins exchanged a glance. Without hesitation, Lana spoke,
"Aunt Eve seems to like you too. But she's not accepting it—she's denying it."
Eve froze. Her face flushed instantly, a deep shade of red betraying her embarrassment.
PK responded evenly, without judgment.
"Aunt Eve is mature. She knows what she's doing. We should respect her decisions."
No one spoke after that.
Once dinner ended, Lana and Luna quietly retreated to their room. PK went to his own. Eve remained seated on the sofa for a long while, lost in thought, before finally heading to her room as well.
Later that night, PK checked his phone.
Dustin had already shared the details about Square City.
A fifteen-floor building—estimated cost: 25 crores, negotiable down to 22 crores.
Dining areas, parking facilities, and a security team were included.
Monthly income ranged between 12–15 lakhs.
PK replied without delay:
"Proceed with the purchase. Rename it to VP Square City. Registration on the weekend."
He set the phone aside, satisfied.
After a brief pause, he picked it up again and messaged Eve.
PK:Still awake?
Eve:Yes.
PK hesitated for a second, then typed:
Can you come to my room?
There was no reply.
Moments later, there was a soft knock.
Eve entered quietly, not asking a single question.
PK stood near her. The room was silent, heavy with unspoken tension. Gently, he lifted her chin so she would meet his eyes.
"Eve," he asked softly but directly,
"Do you like me?"
The question hung in the air—simple, honest, and impossible to evade.
