Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – Fool’s Luck

"Are you really going to choose him?"

The God of Laziness' assistant stared in disbelief. "He doesn't meet any of the criteria. Other gods are selecting prodigies—geniuses, champions, masters of their craft. And you pick… him?"

The hall fell silent.

"Have you already forgotten the consequences of this competition?" the assistant continued. "If your chosen one fails, you lose everything."

The God of Laziness leaned back on his throne, yawning.

"Relax."

"Relax?!"

"He's a weeb," the god said casually. "Obsessed with reborn stories. Isekai novels. Manga. He's read them all."

The assistant blinked. "That's your reason?"

"He understands the rules," the god replied. "Power systems, cheats, betrayals, destiny flags. He knows how these worlds work."

Other gods exchanged looks.

"…This god has truly given up," one muttered.

Far away from divine realms, the chosen fool—let's call him pk—was living an unremarkable life.

Thirty-two years old. Married. Two dogs. A small house. A quiet routine.

At that very moment, he was stretched out on his couch, deeply immersed in a novel, completely unaware that his existence had just become a wager among gods.

Then—

Darkness.

His vision vanished without warning.

When sight returned, he found himself standing in an endless void. In the distance sat a figure on an ornate chair, radiating indifference. Beside him stood another man, visibly annoyed.

**** swallowed.

"Ah," the god said lazily. "You're awake."

And just like that, his ordinary life ended.
