Chapter 174 - ch-174 โ€” Mouse, Lion & Genetic Roasting

Candy tilted her head, curiosity fully charged โšก๐Ÿ‘€.

"Brother," she asked sweetly ๐Ÿฌ,

"tell me about your college girlfriend."

The room wentย suspiciously quietย ๐Ÿ˜ถ.

Maya leaned in ๐Ÿ‘‚.

Cousin paused mid-snack ๐Ÿชโœ‹.

Mochi didn't look at himโ€ฆ which somehow meant she was listening the most ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ญ.

Laddu sighed like a man opening an old, dusty file ๐Ÿ“‚๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ.

"In India," he said calmly,

"I was a mouse." ๐Ÿญ

Candy blinked.

"โ€ฆMouse?" ๐Ÿ˜ณ

"Yes," Laddu nodded seriously.

"Very small. Very quiet." ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ˜ถ

Maya frowned.

"You? Quiet?" ๐Ÿคจ

Laddu continued anyway.

"In India, if I did anything wrong," he explained,

"my family could beat my ass." ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ฅ

Father cleared his throat.

"Discipline." ๐Ÿง“

"Extreme discipline," Laddu corrected. โš ๏ธ

"So no girlfriend?" Candy asked.

Laddu shrugged. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

"I dated fear," he said.

"Fear was very loyal." ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜จ

Maya burst out laughing ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Then Laddu leaned back and added casually,

"But here," he said,

"in foreign landโ€ฆ" ๐ŸŒ

He straightened his shoulders a little ๐Ÿ’ช.

"I am lion." ๐Ÿฆ

Candy's eyes widened.

"ROAR?" ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

"Yes," Laddu nodded seriously.

"No aunties watching."

"No neighbour reporting."

"No uncle asking marks." ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ“Š

Cousin laughed.

"Freedom unlocked." ๐Ÿ”“๐Ÿ˜†

Mochi finally looked at him.

"And the girlfriends?" she asked calmly. ๐Ÿ˜

Laddu met her eyes.

"Experimental phase," he said carefully.

"Like lab work." ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ“Š

Maya choked on air.

"SCIENCE." ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜‚

Laddu smiled at Mochi.

"But lion retired," he added softly. ๐Ÿฆโžก๏ธ๐Ÿ›‘

"Mouse found home." ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿ

Mochi didn't smileโ€ฆ

โ€ฆbut she moved a little closer. ๐Ÿคโžก๏ธ

Candy nodded wisely. ๐Ÿง

"So," she concluded,

"India mouse. Foreign lion." ๐Ÿญโžก๏ธ๐Ÿฆ

Laddu nodded.

"Correct," he said.

"Different countries, different animals." ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿพ

Maya leaned back.

"Next lesson," she said,

"passport zoology." ๐Ÿ›‚๐Ÿ“š

The baby slept ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ‘ถ.

The house stayed warm ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

And Laddu, for once,

didn't need to roar ๐ŸฆโŒ

to feel strong ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’›.

Roasting With Love ๐Ÿ”ฅโค๏ธ

Mochi finally asked it.

"Why are you like that?" ๐Ÿคจ

Laddu smiled, like he had been waiting for this question his whole life ๐Ÿ˜Œ.

"My whole family," he said calmly,

"has comedy humour." ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿงฌ

Maya leaned in.

"Oh no." ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

"We roast each other," Laddu continued,

"but with respect." ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Father nodded slowly.

"That part is important." โœ”๏ธ

Laddu's eyes softened as he remembered ๐Ÿ’ญ.

"Like everyday casual life," he said.

"My grandpa casually walking," Laddu continued,

"once told my grannyโ€”"

He paused, then copied an old man's serious voice ๐ŸŽญ:

"'If obesity had a competition,'"

"'you would win the gold medal.'" ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿ˜

For one secondโ€”

Then everyoneย burst out laughingย ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Mochi covered her mouth ๐Ÿคญ.

Candy clapped ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚.

Maya fell back on the sofa ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ๐Ÿคฃ.

"And my granny," Laddu continued proudly,

"didn't cry." โŒ๐Ÿ˜ญ

He switched tone again, sharp and sweet ๐Ÿฌโš”๏ธ:

"She said, 'If baldness was a competition,

you would win gold too.'" ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿฆฒ

The houseย exploded againย ๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿคฃ.

Father laughed openly ๐Ÿ˜†.

Mother shook her head, smiling ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Candy wheezed ๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜‚.

"And my grandpa?" Laddu added.

"What?" Candy asked.

"He laughed hardest," Laddu said. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’€

Mochi smiled softly now ๐Ÿค.

"One anniversary," Laddu continued,

"my grandpa gifted my granny a skipping rope." ๐Ÿชข

Maya screamed.

"NO." ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜‚

"And my granny," Laddu finished,

"gifted him a comb." ๐Ÿ’‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Silence. ๐Ÿ˜ถ

Thenย pure chaosย ๐ŸŒช๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Candy rolled on the floor ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ.

Cousin wiped tears ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Maya pointed at Laddu.

"THIS IS GENETIC." ๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Laddu laughed with them ๐Ÿ˜„.

"That's why I'm like this," he said.

"We joke. We roast. But we never hurt." ๐Ÿคโค๏ธ

Mochi looked at him for a long second ๐Ÿ‘€.

Then nodded.

"โ€ฆI understand," she said softly. ๐Ÿค

Laddu smiled.

"Good," he replied.

"Because silence in my family means something is wrong." ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜Œ

The baby stirred slightly ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ‘ถ.

The house laughed again ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ˜‚.

And somewhere,

two old souls with aย skipping rope ๐Ÿชขย and aย comb ๐Ÿ’‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ

would have approved ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’›.
