Laddu lay back on the sofa ๐, baby resting comfortably on his chest ๐ถ๐ค.
One hand gently tapping the baby's back ๐ค,
the other waving lazily in the air โ๐ด.
Out of nowhere, he spoke.
"I remember one incident from my school," he said ๐.
Everyone glanced at him.
That tone always meant danger โ ๏ธ.
"It was school assembly," Laddu continued.
"I was standing on stage."
Maya leaned forward.
"Why?" ๐คจ
"Because of my long hair," Laddu replied calmly ๐โโ๏ธ.
Candy giggled.
"Of course." ๐
Laddu smiled.
"Our principal," he said,
"very strict man. Face like punishment itself." ๐
Father nodded.
"I know that type." ๐ฎโ๐จ
"He came close," Laddu continued,
"and said he was going to beat me."
Mochi raised an eyebrow.
"And?" ๐
"He asked," Laddu said, copying the voice perfectly,
'Is there no barber in your village?'"
Smiles started spreading ๐.
"I said," Laddu went on,
'There are four.' โโโโ
Mother frowned.
"Then why didn't you cut your hair?" ๐ค
Laddu grinned.
"Principal asked same thing."
Laddu straightened slightly, reenacting ๐ญ.
"'Then why your hair is like this?'"
"And I said," Laddu paused dramatically ๐,
'They are busy.'"
Candy laughed out loud ๐คฃ.
"The principal got angry," Laddu said.
"He asked, 'First barber?'"
"I said," Laddu continued calmly,
'His wife ran away with another man.' ๐"
The room burst into laughter ๐ฅ๐.
"But principal didn't stop," Laddu said.
"He asked, 'Second barber?'"
"I said," Laddu replied,
'With himโฆ she ran away.' ๐"
Maya slapped the sofa laughing ๐คฃ๐๏ธ.
"And principal shouted," Laddu said,
'THIRD BARBER?' ๐ก
Laddu smiled innocently ๐.
"I said," he finished,
'He helped them run away.' ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
"And principal shouted," Laddu continued,
'FOURTH BARBER?!' ๐ค
Laddu smiled even more innocently.
"I said," he finished,
'He helping first barber to catch his wife.' ๐ค๐
๐ฃย The entire house exploded.
Candy rolled on the floor laughing ๐คฃ๐คฃ.
Maya wiped tears ๐ญ๐.
Cousin couldn't breathe ๐ต.
Father laughed openly ๐.
Mother covered her mouth, shaking ๐น.
"And you know what?" Laddu added softly.
"What?" Candy asked between laughs ๐.
"Even my strict principal laughed," Laddu said.
"And let me go." ๐
He looked down at the baby ๐ถ.
"Comedy saves life," he said seriously ๐.
Mochi shook her head, smiling ๐.
"You were dangerous even as a child," she said.
Laddu smiled back.
"Yes," he replied.
"Still am." ๐
Everyone was laughing and smiling ๐๐๐.
Village Rumour Time ๐๐ชฃ๐ฌ
Laddu shifted slightly on the sofa, still holding the baby like a professional nap pillow ๐ถ๐.
"You know," he said casually,
"once there was a rumour in my village."
Everyone instinctively looked at him ๐.
"Danger," Maya whispered โ ๏ธ.
Laddu continued anyway.
"They said," he explained,
"if you ask anything at night from the temple wellโฆ you will get it." ๐๐ชฃโจ
Candy's eyes lit up.
"Magic well?" ๐ฎ
"Yes," Laddu nodded.
"Village-level Amazon." ๐ฆ๐
Father smiled.
"Rumours like this never die." ๐
"There was one greedy wife," Laddu went on,
"very greedy." ๐ค
Mother sighed.
"Of course." ๐
"She forced her husband to go with her," Laddu said.
"He didn't believe the rumour."
Mochi leaned closer.
"And?" ๐
"They reached the temple well at night," Laddu said.
"Husband went first." ๐
He changed his voice, dramatic ๐ญ.
"He asked for something," Laddu said.
"Nothing happened."
Candy frowned.
"Fake?" ๐คจ
"Husband said same thing," Laddu nodded.
"He laughed." ๐
"But then," Laddu paused ๐,
"wife said, 'My turn.'"
Everyone waited ๐ฎโ๐จ.
"She leaned over the well," Laddu continuedโฆ
"And?" ๐ฐ
"She fell in." ๐ฅ๐ชฃ
The room froze โ๏ธ.
Thenโ
Maya burst out laughing ๐คฃ.
Cousin choked ๐ต๐.
Candy gasped, then laughed too ๐.
Father shook his head.
"That escalated fast." ๐
Laddu nodded seriously.
"From that day," he said,
"husband fully believed the rumour." ๐
Mochi blinked.
"โฆhe ask freedom from his wife?" ๐ณ
"Yes," Laddu replied calmly ๐.
Candy giggled.
"And got it." ๐
Mother laughed softly.
"Lesson?" ๐ค
Laddu looked down at the baby ๐ถ.
"Never test rumours at night," he said.
"And never force someone who already said no." โ๏ธ
Maya clapped ๐.
"Moral story with casualty." ๐ญ๐
Laddu smiled.
"Village stories," he said.
"They teach you without homework." ๐โ
The baby slept peacefully ๐ด.
The house laughed warmly ๐ ๐.
And somewhere,
a temple well kept its reputation intact. ๐ชฃ๐
