Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Day of Baptism Arrives

Several days later, the long-awaited morning finally arrived. Kael woke early, his heart pounding with nervous excitement.

At the breakfast table, his father Aelric, mother Elara, and younger sister Lyria were already waiting.

"Good morning, Kael!" Lyria said, nearly bouncing from her chair. "Your baptism day is here! I just know you're going to get something amazing!"

Elara smiled warmly. "Eat well first, dear. It's a special day."

After breakfast, the family boarded their elegant carriage and began the journey through town. People greeted them with bows and smiles.

"Good morning, Count!"

"Blessings upon your family!"

Kael sat quietly, staring outside but lost in his thoughts.

What blessing will I receive…? Am I ready for this…?

The ride continued with cheerful conversations, though Kael remained deep in his own mind.

They finally reached the sacred site. The priest was already standing near the shining statue of the gods, awaiting their arrival.

Kael stepped forward. His family knelt beside him. He closed his eyes.

What if… what if I actually get the six magic types… and a weapon mastery blessing too…?

Suddenly—a voice echoed inside his mind. A calm, ethereal voice.

"As you wish. But remember—your fate depends on your actions."

Kael's eyes flew open. A glowing window floated before him—his status. His breath caught in his throat.

Six Magic Types: Acquired

Weapon Master: Acquired

Craftsman Skill: Acquired

???: Magic Creation – Locked (requires six elements)

A brand-new type of magic, one he had never seen in any book—Magic Creation, a power that could only activate with mastery of all elements.

Kael's hands trembled. He couldn't even breathe properly.

Suddenly—

"Kael! Kael!"

His father's voice shook him back to reality.

"Y-Yes, Father?" Kael quickly closed his status, swallowing hard.

"What blessing did you receive?" Aelric asked gently.

Kael froze. What should I say? No one in history ever had all six elements… If they find out—

"I… I feel a little dizzy," he said quickly. "Maybe we should go home? I-I need to rest."

Elara immediately stepped forward. "He's right. It's overwhelming for a child. Let's take him home."

Aelric nodded with concern.

During the carriage ride, Kael remained silent. His thoughts spun wildly.

I need to hide my status… Magic Creation… maybe I can use it to create a spell to conceal everything.

Once they reached home, Kael rushed to his room.

"I'll be fine in a little while… I think it's just excitement," he assured his parents before entering.

Kael closed the door behind him, letting the soft click echo through the quiet room. He leaned back against the door and took a deep breath.

"Alright… first things first. I need to hide my real blessing."

His heartbeat raced with excitement—not fear. After all, he now possessed something no one in the entire kingdom had seen since the First King.

A wide grin formed on Kael's face.

"Hahaha… so now I can create magic. Let's begin."

He straightened his posture, standing firmly on his feet. A gentle breeze of mana swirled around him. Closing his eyes, he focused.

And then it happened. Words—ancient, unfamiliar, yet strangely natural—began flowing into his mind on their own, as if someone was whispering a forgotten divine chant.

Kael opened his eyes slowly.

"So this is… magic creation."

A magic circle of faint silver light appeared before him for a moment and then dispersed.

Kael checked his status again.

"Good. Now it shows only three types of magic… and swordsmanship skill. Perfect."

He nodded to himself, satisfied.

Just then—knock knock.

Kael stiffened for a moment.

"Come in," he said calmly.

Mira stepped inside and bowed slightly.

"Sir Kael, Lord and Madam are waiting for you in the dining room."

Kael smiled lightly.

"Alright, I'll be there in a moment."

After she left, he whispered,

"Okay… I'm prepared. Time to face them."

Kael walked into the dining hall and took his seat. Elara, his mother, immediately leaned forward with worry in her eyes.

"Kael, dear… are you feeling better now?"

Kael nodded politely.

"Yes, Mother, I'm fine."

Aelric's eyes were sharp with authority.

"Kael… there is something important you need to understand."

He leaned forward.

"As you know, you are my second son. And because I have only one domain, the title and territory will pass to your elder brother. That is why you must explore your future path by yourself."

Kael nodded respectfully.

"Yes, Father. I understand. I will do my best."

Elara touched Kael's hand warmly.

"He will grow into a fine and great man, Aelric."

Aelric laughed softly.

"Hahaha, true."

Then he became serious again.

"Now, Kael… show us your blessing."

Kael opened his status screen. Aelric's face went pale with shock.

Attack Power: 50,000

Defense Power: 32,000

Magic: Fire, Water, Wind (Shown)

Skill: Swordsmanship

Aelric's tone hardened.

"Kael… do not show this to anyone."

He turned to Mira and the butler.

"No one repeats a word of this conversation. Understood?"

They bowed deeply.

"Yes, my lord."

Aelric's gaze returned to his son.

"…Kael. Something is off."

His eyes narrowed.

"Are you hiding something?"

Kael froze. The room fell silent.

Aelric leaned closer.

"Kael… show me the truth."

Kael slowly nodded.

"…Yes, Father."

He opened his true status:

Six magics

Magic Creation

Weapon Master

Craftsman

All skills level 10

Everyone stared in stunned silence.

Aelric whispered in disbelief:

"Kael… your power alone could destroy a kingdom."

Lyria suddenly burst into joyful laughter.

"My brother is amazing! He can do anything!"

She threw her arms around him. Kael gently put his hand on her head, smiling softly.

"I don't want to destroy anything, Father. I just want to protect people… and their smiles."

Elara's eyes filled with pride.

"See, Aelric? He is wise. We don't need to worry."

Aelric exhaled a long breath, then laughed.

"You're right… you're absolutely right."

He looked at Kael with admiration.

"With such power, you can choose any path you desire."

Kael lifted his head confidently.

"I have decided, Father. I will become an adventurer. And as a noble, I will fulfill my duties."

Three days later

The mansion was unusually lively that morning—servants moving quickly, guards training harder, and even the air felt different.

Kael stepped into the courtyard, stretching lightly before beginning his daily training.

"Good morning, Young Master Kael!"

Every knight in the training yard stopped what they were doing and saluted him with firm, disciplined voices.

Kael nodded politely, and the knights returned to their drills.

The sound of swords clashing and boots striking the ground filled the air. But Kael's eyes were fixed on one person—Sir William, the strongest knight in the entire domain, known as Aelric's Iron Wall. His towering frame and calm expression made him look like an immovable fortress.

Kael walked straight toward him.

William noticed the boy's determined gaze and raised a brow.

Kael:

"Sir William. I want to spar with you."

Instantly—the entire courtyard froze. Every knight turned toward them, speechless.

William:

"Are you certain, my lord?"

Kael smiled slightly.

"Don't hold back."

William's expression hardened with seriousness.

"All knights, step back!"

The yard cleared in seconds. William drew his iron sword. Kael took his stance. A moment of silence stretched between them.

William:

"Kael… you may attack first."

Kael took a single step back and whispered:

"Acceleration."

A burst of wind exploded beneath his feet. In the blink of an eye—Kael vanished.

A flash of silver streaked across William's vision. William's eyes widened.

"Hah—!!"

He barely managed to raise his sword in time to block.

CLANG!

The shockwave from the impact pushed William back two steps. Gasps erupted from every knight.

Knights:

"H-He moved like light!"

"Sir William almost couldn't block it!"

"What terrifying speed…!"

William tightened his grip.

"I see… you weren't joking, young master."

He lowered his stance, taking Kael seriously this time. Kael grinned. With another burst, he charged again—but instead of a direct attack, he sprinted toward the stone wall, ran upward, and launched himself high into the air.

William's eyes widened again. Kael descended like a falling star—

CLANG—CRACK!

William's sword split clean in half, and Kael's blade gently tapped the side of William's neck. A perfect, clean victory. Silence.

William:

"…I concede. This is my defeat, Lord Kael."

Kael lowered his sword and nodded respectfully.

"Thank you for the spar, Sir William. Your defense is incredible."

William smiled proudly. Then—the entire courtyard erupted in cheers.

Knights:

"Lord Kael!!"

"He's unbelievably strong!!"

"That speed is unreal!"

"He'll become a legendary adventurer!"

Kael waved shyly and walked back toward the mansion.

Later That Evening – Dining Hall

Aelric set down his fork and looked at Kael with a proud smile.

"I heard you defeated Sir William today. Well done, my boy."

Kael rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed.

"Thank you, Father. Mother… tomorrow, I want to register at the Adventurers' Guild."

Elara's smile softened lovingly.

"If that is your wish… then we support you."

Kael's eyes gleamed with determination. Tomorrow… a new journey begins.
