Nora's POV
I spin around fast, my hand flying up defensively. The shadowy outline of a man vanishes completely.
"Damn it," I whisper, scanning every inch around the car. Something was definitely there. I heard my name clear as day, and then caught a glimpse of something dark in the rearview mirror.
I hold my breath for several heartbeats, waiting. When nothing lunges at me from the darkness, I fire up the Jeep. Storm clouds are rolling across the blue sky, threatening to unleash a downpour any minute now.
I pull into our driveway right by the front entrance and sprint around to the back of the house. Pausing on the bottom porch step, I sweep my gaze across the entire yard one more time. Nothing should be able to breach the protective circles I've cast, and if something managed to try, we'd know immediately.
At least I hope we would.
The problem is, I have no clue whether my anti-evil wards work the same way on angels as they do on demons.
