Savannah's POV
"Rise and shine, beautiful. Time to start our new life together."
The pounding in my skull made everything fuzzy, but those mocking emerald eyes burning into me were unmistakable.
Dennis.
I fought to clear my vision, taking in my surroundings through the haze. A rustic cabin surrounded me, all weathered wood and crackling fireplace. The king bed beneath me was draped in expensive silk that probably cost more than most people's cars. The scent of burning cedar mixed with his cologne, creating an atmosphere that should have been romantic but felt suffocating instead.
My husband had been here. I could smell Jonathan's lingering presence, which meant he had handed me over willingly.
The betrayal cut deeper than any physical wound ever could. Hot tears stung my eyes as the reality crashed over me like ice water.
My knuckles went white as I clutched the blanket, my mind spinning with desperation.
