Jonathan's POV
The council chamber fell silent as my voice cut through the tension like a blade.
"You should face execution for what you've done."
My father's rage blazed across his weathered features as he towered on the elevated platform. The council members sat in their ornate chairs, watching this family drama unfold with barely concealed interest.
"How dare you storm in here while I mourn with my mate, you insolent pup! This disaster is entirely your doing!"
"You have the audacity to blame me, old man?"
His eyes flashed that familiar crimson warning as alpha pheromones flooded the chamber. The scent was designed to bring weaker wolves to their knees, to make them submit and crawl. Several younger pack members shifted uncomfortably in their seats.
But I refused to bow.
