Chapter 70 - Chapter 70

  Chapter 70 'Lin Xiuran'

The purple soul-guided mechs were at least equivalent to the combat power of a six-ring Soul Master, and they also had more energy reserves. This was enough to suppress a six-ring Soul Emperor.

Four purple soul-guided mechs were enough to have a deterrent effect even on a Soul Saint.

Fortunately, Heaven Dou City was a large city, and daily patrols were conducted in this way. The area where Lin Xiuran was located was one of the main commercial districts of Heaven Dou City, which is why the patrol team arrived so quickly.

"An evil Soul Master! And a Soul Saint at that! Immediately notify the headquarters to send reinforcements."

The leader of the four purple mechs quickly issued the order, while they themselves did not stop, blocking Lin Xiuran's path. They regrouped their energy cannons.

However, the situation was not very optimistic. The reason for calling for reinforcements was that these mechs were only meant to deter; actually taking down a Soul Saint was still difficult. Moreover, if the opponent went berserk and attacked the city indiscriminately, they would be almost powerless to stop him.

After all, the gap between a Soul Saint and a Soul Emperor is vast, precisely because a Soul Saint possesses a Martial Soul True Body. That represents a comprehensive improvement, far beyond what a Soul Emperor can achieve. This is why only those at the Soul Saint stage are considered high-level Soul Masters.

Moreover, the opponent is an evil Soul Master, capable of anything; who knows what tricks he might pull?

Four purple mechs immediately took to the sky, surrounding the Skeleton Soul Saint and then rapidly bombarding him.

The instantaneous and intense bombardment engulfed the black smoke in flames.

But immediately after the bombardment, the Skeleton Soul Saint's figure had completely merged into the black mist, disappearing entirely from sight.

Just as the purple mechs were preparing to launch another all-encompassing attack on the smoke, the black mist, which had been reduced by the firelight, suddenly began to expand rapidly, threatening to engulf the purple mechs in an instant.

The purple mechs reacted quickly, instantly spewing flames into the black mist and launching an even more intense barrage of artillery fire.

To some extent, this effectively slowed the growth of the black mist.

However, the Skeleton Soul Saint was clearly not going to be taken down so easily. He instantly emerged halfway out of the black mist. His hat had long since disappeared, revealing his face: a deathly pale complexion, bloodless pupils, and sparse, almost nonexistent hair—utterly hideous! Yet, he was also terrifying, without a doubt. This was a true evil Soul Master.

The purple mechs immediately charged forward. They weren't stupid; capturing this evil Soul Master would be a major achievement. Naturally, they were extremely proactive, using their artillery fire without restraint, unconcerned about the wear and tear on their mechs.

Often, mech pilots cherish their mechs, so they don't always go all out when enforcing the law. Of course, this doesn't apply to ordinary official mechs.

The three purple mechs, each with Soul Emperor-level strength, genuinely posed a threat to the Skeleton Soul Saint.

He was forced to retreat, and the black mist began to shrink.

But just as one of the purple mechs penetrated deeper, a red light flashed in the Skeleton Soul Saint's eyes. He absorbed all the black mist into his body, and the next moment, his body rapidly expanded.

As the black smoke entered his body, his flesh withered rapidly in a peculiar way, transforming into a skeletal giant almost identical to the purple mech.

  "Martial Soul True Body! Retreat!"

Even though the purple mechs behind him warned him in time, the one that had penetrated the deepest part didn't have time to react. It was too close to the Skeleton Soul Saint.

The Skeleton Soul Saint's punch, accompanied by black mist, slammed the purple mech down from the sky, instantly creating a huge crater in the smooth street.      The purple mech failed to take off again, clearly suffering significant damage.

But the Skeleton Soul Saint didn't stop there. He arrived instantly, a cloud of black mist accompanying his attack, overwhelming the remaining purple mechs.

The Soul Saint, unleashing his full power, completely crushed the purple mechs; had they not been piloted with greater skill, they would likely have been destroyed long ago.

As the battle progressed, the black smoke behind the Skeleton Soul Saint gradually spread, reaching the mechs.

The black smoke, of unknown origin, seemed to instantly malfunction or sluggish many of the mechs' internal programs upon contact.

This gave the Skeleton Soul Saint an opening; his giant skeletal hand instantly grew larger, even reaching the size to grasp the purple mechs.

Simultaneously, the Skeleton Soul Saint unleashed his third Soul Skill, a sinister blue light emanating from his dark skeletal eyes.

Then, several streaks of blue Netherfire suddenly erupted behind him, instantly chasing after the purple mechs under his control.

The four purple mechs sensed the immense power contained within the Netherfire and immediately allocated their energy to power mode, speeding away in an attempt to evade.

Just as the purple mechs were on the verge of collapse, the Skeleton Soul Saint instantly appeared before Lin Xiuran.

Needless to say, the yellow mechs protecting Lin Xiuran were easily swatted away by the Skeleton Soul Saint. Black smoke filled the entire street, accompanied by the sounds of exploding mechs and their wreckage. How could these yellow-level mechs possibly withstand the power of a Soul Saint?

But at this moment, Lin Xiuran was completely powerless to resist the Skeleton Soul Saint.

His massive, chilling skeletal hand instantly grabbed Lin Xiuran, holding him before his head, scrutinizing him closely.

Lin Xiuran could even feel him deeply inhaling his scent.

A sense of powerlessness washed over Lin Xiuran, and a chilling sensation ran down his spine.

Without a doubt, being captured would be worse than death!

Before being knocked unconscious by the opponent's oppressive aura, Lin Xiuran desperately tried to channel the Phoenix True Fire within his bloodline. However, no matter how much he overexerted himself, he couldn't ignite even a trace of Phoenix True Fire.

And at this moment of despair, at the moment Lin Xiuran's consciousness faded, a golden light flashed deep within his pupils.

His entire aura underwent a complete transformation, and an exceptionally domineering and powerful aura instantly erupted from his body.

Lin Xiuran's eyes met those of the Skeleton Soul Saint, and that abyss-like feeling instantly filled the Skeleton Soul Saint's heart.
