Evelina rushed forward before anything and grabbed Noel's hand.
"I've been waiting for you," she said. "You should come to my room. The bed is large and there's plenty of space for you."
Cedric opened his mouth... clearly about to refuse.
Noel beat him to it.
He gently shook his head.
"I'm tired," he spoke honestly. "I'd like to rest. I want to go to the guest room."
Evelina frowned like she had been hurt.
"I didn't convince your father to bring you here just so you could sleep in the guest room," she said.
Noel blinked.
"I don't understand what you're saying. Why would we sleep together when we don't have any relationship?"
Evelina stepped closer as her voice dropped low.
"I'll make you understand."
Before Noel could respond, the last carriage rolled up. The door opened.
Bennett alighted first, looking around the quiet compound. There was a small bruise forming on his cheekbone.
