Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: The Agency's Second Floor

"I underestimated you."

Ddraig drew a deep breath, eyeing Kaiser. "I acknowledge you."

"You're worthy to wield the Boosted Gear."

Kaiser's gaze remained icy.

From the start, he'd planned to deal with this dragon soul.

A male dragon tagging along felt off.

Initially, with no grudge, he'd considered transferring it.

Now? Simpler to erase.

"No deal, then."

Ddraig's face darkened at the silence.

"Then don't blame me."

Terrifying aura exploded from within.

"Roar!"

With a draconic bellow, searing flames erupted around Ddraig.

Like raging waves, they surged in all directions.

The realm's temperature skyrocketed.

Ddraig became a volcano on the verge of eruption, radiating dread-inducing heat.

Flames burned everything tangible and intangible.

Air, sight, sunlight—all consumed.

The world turned into a crimson inferno, dooming all life to ashes.

"Whatever your origins, my blazing flames end you here."

His voice echoed as annihilating flames converged on Kaiser.

But!

Kaiser merely raised a hand, deep black light blooming.

No skill, no magic—just raw magic release.

In his current state, it shook heaven and earth.

Boom!

Deafening roars merged.

In an instant, the endless flames dissipated completely.

"You… extinguished my blazing flames…"

The impossible sight left Ddraig frozen, disbelief overwhelming.

Swish!

Kaiser flickered, appearing above Ddraig's head, hand pressing down.

Hum!

Brilliant magic circles enveloped everything.

Soul-annihilating aura engulfed Ddraig.

"…"

Ddraig's eyes widened in terror, unable to resist.

His massive body crumbled like burned ash, vanishing.

Only pure power lingered, scattering into the realm.

Next moment, Kaiser's black magic faded.

Reality shifted.

The familiar living room returned.

"Phew!"

Kaiser exhaled heavily, drenched as if pulled from water.

"Master, are you okay?"

Shiho and the others rushed over, worried.

"Fine. Just drained."

Kaiser waved them off, feeling soul-deep weakness.

Too weak still.

Progenitor Devil form nearly emptied him in mere moments.

A trump card only.

But worth it.

He pressed the Boosted Gear to his chest.

Hum!

Crimson light flared.

The gauntlet faded, merging into him.

"The Longinus is fully mine now."

Sensing its state, Kaiser nodded inwardly.

No dragon soul meant direct highest access—like cheating.

"And I've grown much stronger."

His eyes gleamed, pulling up his panel.

"Almost forgot—Ddraig was a massive experience haul."

"King of Beasts boosted my body too."

Kaiser smiled in realization.

Normally, he was Transcendent Devil-class.

With Boosted Gear, he could finally stand equal against this world's top tiers.

"Master, rest today. Skip the agency," Shiho suggested, relieved at his recovering color.

"No, stick to plan."

Kaiser's Exorcism Agency.

Asia stayed home.

Shiho led Kaiser and the peerage there.

A two-story building.

Ground floor: standard office—bookshelves, desks, computers.

Second floor: something else.

Climbing upstairs, Kaiser paused.

One vast room, luxuriously decorated with heavy personal flair.

Soft purple ceiling lights created an intimate ambiance.

Center: enormous waterbed.

One wardrobe brimmed with outfits and props.

Maid, teacher, student uniforms… blindfolds, ropes, candles…

Everything imaginable.

Through transparent bathroom glass: massive jacuzzi.

Kaiser's lips curved upward.

Sensing his mood, Vermouth said proudly, "Master, I handled all the decor."

"I left plenty of space for your ideas too."

"Thoughtful."

Kaiser nodded, stepping onto plush handmade wool carpet, sitting on the waterbed.

He shifted, highly satisfied.

Smiling: "For your effort, a reward."

"Your level's near breakthrough—let's push it."

Vermouth's heart raced; she approached. "Thank you, Master."

To her, Kaiser loomed godlike, commanding body and soul.

"Today's opening day, right?" Akemi said faintly. "Lots to do."

"Leave it to you, sis. You're not rushing to grow stronger," Shiho replied.

"Miss Akemi, we're at Master's command," the fallen angels added.

Akemi: "…"

She watched Kaiser, god of war-like, guiding peerage "training."

For a moment, profound loss washed over her.

She'd joined earliest after Shiho.

Yet now sidelined.

Her chest tightened.
