A small boat docked on a nearby island surrounded by blood colored mist, a hooded figure climbed out of the boat and walked into the mist covered island as the figure walked into the island the mist trembled and then they parted aside creating a road and the figure walked through with a hint of a smile on their face.
The figure walked through the mist and appeared to face a small well-structured cottage with a red door taking a small pause the figure stopped took a deep breath in then let out a loud sigh before pushing the door open and to be met with a pair of golden eyes that sent a blast of energy, a wave of force that was primal and ancient, strong which seemed capable of destroying the hut and the island it rested upon but the figure who stood by the door with a wave of a hand neutralized the wave but not all of it, it seemed as a hood floated away revealing the face of a woman with long golden hair and a pair of golden eyes to match
"Hello sister nice of you to drop by."

In a well-lit study, a man with white hair and blue eyes and dressed in a regal golden and white attire sat on a throne and looked towards the boy kneeling in his presence with a gaze so cold it could freeze the deepest parts of hell
"Speak" the man uttered just one word and the temperature in the room seemed to drop even more.
The boy who had white hair but with golden eyes and with a similar image to the man on the throne raised his head high before dropping it immediately with fear in his voice even when every cell in his body told him to be quiet he raised his head and spoke aloud
"we were training from dawn to noon, we swung our swords at each other and then we parted ways I went to freshen up and get something to eat before practicing my techniques in my private chamber I assumed he did too but few hours later he came to me said he had found a dungeon with vibrant rewards."
"you must know Father I begged him to come to you with this but he refused he wanted to make you proud" the boy said to his father who still looked at him like he was one decision away from deciding to end his life and maybe he was.
"What happened next?"
"I followed him as he led me to the dungeon which we entered together and then we were separated, the dungeon put us into different trials fair but not that challenging it was like it was giving us a test it wanted us to pass and pass we did and we received rewards that were very surprising even by our standards."

Faster than the eye could blink the man on the throne moved and grabbed the boy by the throat and slammed him into the nearest wall before yelling "I understand the need that drives you to walk into an unrecorded dungeon it's not your fault our blood is one that thrives on danger but what is your fault?, is thinking you know better, thinking it was a great idea not to inform me, that is your fault and it was not your call to make."
"We just wanted to make you proud, to prove we are worthy of the name we bear" the boy said softly
"And look where that path has led"
It was like a dagger to the heart of the boy
The man sighed letting a deep breath he didn't even know he had been holding before he walked back to his throne and sat down "tell me how it ends"
The boy calmed his breathing trying to get rid of the fear that he was feeling before he spoke "we both passed our individual trials then came a final test brother versus brother for the grand prize, and we clashed blow after blow, we went at each other as hard as we could in the end I lost badly."
"As soon as a victor was decided a golden dome descended and separated us, I could only watch as a giant book with golden covers descended while radiating a sense that was primal, ancient and powerful and merged with him just as I thought that was the end a golden runic circle appeared beneath him and before any of us could react he disappeared."
I thought he had been sent outside just as I was but few seconds later, I couldn't find him and then the dungeon disappeared like it had never existed and with it any evidence of where he was."
"You and the knights found me few hours later father that's how the story ends." The boy said with tears in his eyes
The man looked at his son with a soft gaze before his face and voice hardened as he spoke " you will spend the next decade in seclusion with no contacts with the outside world, since you received rewards from the dungeon you should use it to increase your strength and hopefully your wits as well, Guards take him away"
"Father don't do this please, get your hands off me…. father please"
"I'm sorry son this is the only way" the man looked as if he had aged a hundred years as he watched his son being carried away.
"Do you think he is dead?" the man asked the golden knight that was always by his side
No, my liege I do not believe someone as brilliant as the young lord will close his eyes to the light anytime soon, I believe his destiny simply took him to a place he needed to be. The knight responded
"Do you think he would resent me" the man asked again?
"No, my liege I'm sure he will understand that what you did was for the good of the family" the knight responded.
The man took a deep breath before his face changed he no longer wore the face of doting father the face he wore now was the emperor of a powerful nation he looked at his golden knight "Balthazar I have a mission for you, you will leave immediately be advised this mission will take time years, thousands of years, it will take you a far distance away from home will you do it?
The golden knight got to his knees with his sword stabbed to the ground and said "I Balthazar swear to be loyal
To guard and put the life of the emperor before my own
To wield my sword against foes that seek to do harm
From the deepest parts of hell to the highest heavens
My blade is yours; wherever you point I will go
For my will is no longer mine but the will of the emperor"
"This is what your emperor needs you to do ...." he said to his loyal knight
Few minutes later his knight disappeared he looked around and asked no one in particular "where the hell did you go?"

In the hut on the mist covered island
Golden eyes shone brightly yet that was all that could be revealed his face, body and power seemed to be hidden, restrained by something or someone that's why he was covered in mist with only his pair of golden eyes revealed itself as he spoke
Tell me sister why have you come, last time we met you said you didn't want anything to do with me
The golden-haired woman looked at the being who despite being her brother had reached a realm of strength she couldn't fathom "you know why I'm here, sure you saw it happen, no in fact engineered it

So faster than the eye could process she rushed in cracking the very ground she stood on and delivered three solid punches with such force the booms echoed out loud
But the blows landed against him like a mortal man banging his hand against a steel wall it did nothing
"Come on sister not unless you are planning to shatter those chains that bind you, you won't be able to touch me, but you knew that already" he said
She raised her hand and summoned a condensed golden lightning bolt packed with enough energy to destroy an entire world which she threw with so much force that the heavens itself cracked in response.
And then with incredible speed he snatched the lightning bolt out of the air all the power and energy contained in it seemed to disappear into his body almost like he devoured it
"Sister ask what you want to ask" he said calmly
Where is my son?
