Synopsis
In a world where darkness has reigned for 219 years, the struggle for light is not just a fight for survival, but for hope. Samael, a young man bound to the depths of a harsh, lightless existence, is trapped in a life of endless labor. Raised by a caring but hot-headed uncle in the slums, Samael's heart has hardened to the point of indifference, unwilling to even witness the world in its desolate state. In this world, the wealthy control a mysterious force known as Wave—an elusive and powerful energy tied to light and its wavelengths. The privileged few use it to manipulate and control the masses, while the rest suffer in the oppressive darkness. Drawn into a dangerous quest to uncover the true nature of light, Samael faces the devastating truths hidden in the shadows. This is a world where nothing is as it seems, and only the light may hold the key to freedom. Will Samael overcome his apathy and rise against the darkness and become the bringer of light to all. Or will the light remain out of his reach forever?

Chapter 1 - Darkness before the Light

It is Light 219, 219 years since darkness consumed the world. For as long as anyone can remember, the sun has been nothing more than a myth, a story told in whispers by those who still dream of a time when the world was whole. Now, all we know is darkness, a night that stretches endlessly. A never-ending void of despair, where hope flickers like a candle in the wind.

However, over time during the disappearance of the sun, people discovered what could only be described as something magical. The ability to control colors of light and manifest magical conjurations that correlate to the color of light they control. The wealthy, the ones who rule us, have profited from the fleeting moments of light that pierce through the blackened skies. They call it "Wave," it is the fleeting colors that the sun has left behind for us to pick up. For a short, precious hour each day, the darkness recedes, allowing us to see. We can see each other's faces, touch the things we've forgotten, and breathe in the world around us. For that brief moment, there is happiness. But it is never enough. They only give us enough to where we had no need to evolve or change our sensory organs. Keeping us trapped in their cage.

Wave is controlled, rationed, and sold to the highest bidder. The rich control the flow of time, deciding when and how long we get to experience light. During this brief interlude, we are forced into slave labor—mining the earth, transporting goods, and performing menial tasks for their profit. Our backs bend, our hands bleed, and our spirits wither under the oppressive weight of their commands.

They give us just enough light to keep us working, just enough to keep us alive. But they do not care about our happiness, only their wealth. They keep us in line with the promise of a few more moments of light, enough to sustain the illusion of life, but never enough to truly live.

I refuse to accept this.

I have spent my life in the darkness, waiting for a moment, a spark, a chance to change the world. I know the truth that they want to hide: the light isn't gone forever. It's out there, waiting. The Wave is only a small taste, a trickle, a reminder of what could be if we were free. I believe that the sun is still alive, that the true light can be restored to the world. I know that if that if the current rich don't stay rich and if the powerful do not stay powerful, then I can change the world and allow those who deserve it to see the light.

I will bring back light to everyone in the world.

I will become The Lightbringer...
