THURSDAY MORNING - SIX DAYS AFTER TRANSFORMATION 7:00 AM
Eve woke to gentle kisses being pressed along her jaw....carefully avoiding the bite marks that still decorated her neck and shoulders.
"Morning," Silas murmured against her skin. "How do you feel?"
Eve took inventory. The bite marks were healing....faster than human injuries would, but slower than her other wounds had healed. Rex had marked her so deeply that her supernatural healing factor was struggling to repair the damage.
"Sore," she admitted. "But better than yesterday. The pain is more manageable now."
"Your bracelet turned yellow an hour ago," Silas said, pulling back to show her the gem glowing soft yellow. "You need to feed. But we wanted to let you sleep as long as possible."
"We'll be gentle," Damian promised from her other side. "Nothing like....." He gestured vaguely, unable to finish the sentence.
