Parasite God System
Chapter 1: Information
The world ended quietly.
No divine trumpet sounded.
No warning echoed through the skies.
In the year 2050, humanity no longer measured time by calendars—but by survival.
The catastrophe had begun fifty years ago, in the year 2000, when the sky itself tore open.
They were called Rifts.
At first, they appeared like fractures in space—silent, glowing scars floating above cities, oceans, and mountains. Then the creatures emerged.
Monsters.
Beasts.
Existences that should never have walked the Earth.
Humanity responded with everything it had.
Missiles.
Nuclear weapons.
Advanced energy cannons.
None of it worked.
Steel shattered.
Cities burned.
Civilizations collapsed overnight.
Billions died.
Hope followed soon after.
---
Then, the System appeared.
No one knew where it came from.
No one knew who created it.
But one thing was certain—
It chose humans.
A small percentage of survivors awakened Abilities, gaining strength beyond human limits. They could fight. They could survive. They could protect.
With blood and sacrifice, humanity endured.
And the world changed again.
---
The Earth itself expanded.
Land stretched endlessly. Mountains pierced the clouds. Oceans swallowed continents. The planet grew to nearly one thousand times its original size, adapting to support powerful lifeforms infused with natural energy.
From this reborn world, five great regions emerged.
At the center stood the Human Territory—fortified cities, academies, and guilds built upon the bones of the old world.
Surrounding it were four terrifying domains:
• The Demon Region
• The Angel Region
• The Elf Region
• The Monster Region
The Angels remained neutral—watchers who interfered only when balance was threatened.
The Elves signed a peace treaty with humanity, trading knowledge and resources.
The Demons, however, never stopped seeking war.
Each of these races was ruled by a King, beings so powerful that even human S-Class Awakeners trembled before them.
But the most feared land was the Monster Region.
It had no king.
Only endless territory… and horrors beyond imagination.
Even the rulers of other races avoided its depths.
---
Within the Human Territory, nations were divided by resources, environment, and danger level.
I live in one such nation.
Lugia.
A vast land bordering the Monster Region.
Because of that, monsters frequently broke through its borders. Cities were rebuilt again and again. Development lagged behind other nations.
Lugia was a place for commoners, low-class hunters, and people who had no choice.
And I was one of them.
---
My name is Jule.
I am 18 years old, with a lean but well-proportioned build, standing around 178 centimeters tall. Years of physical labor have shaped my body—not bulky, but firm and balanced.
My face is sharp yet calm, with dark eyes that rarely reveal emotion. My black hair is slightly long, often falling over my forehead no matter how many times I try to fix it.
I usually wear simple clothes—dark jackets, worn jeans, and practical boots. Fashion is a luxury I cannot afford.
I live with my mother and younger sister.
My father died when I was ten, during a hunter expedition. His body was never recovered.
After that day, my mother aged quickly. Her hands grew rough. Her smile grew rare.
To survive, I took part-time jobs as an electrician, repairing energy circuits, monster-core generators, and old systems salvaged from ruins. I studied endlessly, reading manuals and ancient texts late into the night.
In our village, people call me a genius technician.
But genius doesn't pay well.
Almost all my income goes toward education—mine and my sister's.
Because education is the only ladder left for people like us.
---
My sister's name is Alena.
She is 16, slightly shorter than me, with soft silver-brown hair tied into a ponytail. Her face still carries youthful innocence, but her eyes are bright and determined.
She wears her academy uniform neatly, always standing straight, always smiling—even when life is hard.
She trusts me more than anyone.
And that trust is something I will protect with my life.
---
Tomorrow is a special day.
Awakening Day.
The day when students may be chosen by the System.
The day that determines destiny.
---
That morning, the sun rose gently above Lugia.
The sky was clear, dotted with drifting clouds.
Alena and I walked side by side before boarding a taxi.
Modern vehicles no longer use fuel. Instead, they run on monster cores—compressed energy crystals extracted from beasts.
Our taxi used a Grade G core, the lowest quality available. The engine hummed softly, occasionally rattling.
Alena leaned toward me, smiling.
"Brother, what are you thinking about?" she asked. "And don't forget—you have to give me a gift after your awakening."
I glanced at her, surprised.
"What kind of gift?" I asked, my voice calm. "Tell me. I'll do my best."
She blushed slightly, looking away toward the window.
"It's a secret," she murmured. "I'll tell you after tomorrow."
I chuckled quietly and nodded.
---
Dragon College soon came into view.
Massive walls. Towering buildings. Energy barriers shimmering faintly in the air.
It wasn't just a college.
It was a city.
Students from countless regions gathered here—most of them from wealthy families, backed by guilds and corporations.
I stepped through the gates alone.
My clothes were plain. My background nonexistent.
But my scores were perfect.
---
During lunch break, the familiar shadows returned.
Tony.
Tall. Broad-shouldered. Athletic.
He wore custom academy gear, his posture confident, almost arrogant. His blond hair was neatly styled, and his eyes looked down on others as if the world belonged to him.
The sports champion.
The CEO's son.
And my daily tormentor.
He bullied me for three reasons:
First—I had no background.
Second—I ranked first in written exams.
Third—
I had something he wanted.
Something he could never truly obtain.
Tony smiled coldly as he approached.
And I clenched my fists.
Because tomorrow…
Everything would change.
