Lucian had repeated his stance firmly, his body still blocking Rowan's path, his eyes blazing with determination.
"I will do anything and whatever it takes to ensure you get treated before leaving for another business meeting." He maintained sharply.
Rowan's lips parted in shock, his eyes flashing in anger. He was more than annoyed- he found this deeply disrespectful.
Who did Lucian think he was? A mere personal assistant dictating what the CEO should or shouldn't do?
But even as anger flared in Rowan's chest, one part of his mind whispered something different.
"This isn't really disrespect. Now you have someone who cares about your well-being."
The thought was startling. Warm, almost... comforting.
