from Stephanie Gabriel, the young miss of the Gabriel family, the one that controlled the country's media industry. Opening it, Lena realized it was a fundraiser, one where items would be auctioned off at outrageous prices.
She had always hated events like this. In the past, she would simply hand her card to Ashley and Evans and have them attend on her behalf. They, in turn, would blackmail her into giving them more invitation calls.
But this time was different.
Stephanie had invited her personally.
Lena knew she couldn't refuse. That alone was reason enough to attend.
As she worked, her thoughts drifted back to Raymond and everything that had happened over the past few days. No matter how often she argued with him or pushed him away, he had never stopped taking care of her. She had promised him things, yet she hadn't fulfilled a single one.
Raymond deserved better.
