Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Youthful Pica

Chapter 93: Youthful Pica

"Yaa~!"

A sharp cry rang out from the sky.

Everyone looked up.

A huge, strange bird that blotted out the sun was flying toward them.

Pica's eyes narrowed.

Buzz!!

A fierce gust of wind swept over them as the massive bird landed before them—and in the blink of an eye, it transformed into a small girl holding a box in her hand.

"I'm Nico Robin. The captain sent me to make the trade—and to collect the money."

Little Robin looked at Pica with a serious, businesslike expression.

"This is the three hundred million Berries from last time!"

Pica lifted a large chest from his right side and opened it.

Inside were stacks upon stacks of neatly bundled banknotes.

Robin set her own small box down and crossed her arms. "Veinte Fleur!"

At once, several delicate, fair hands sprouted from the big chest, quickly counting through the piles of money. Robin's bright eyes stayed fixed on them, focused and meticulous.

A few minutes later—

"All done."

Since every bill in the chest was worth ten thousand Berries, the counting went quickly.

"These are the fruits you ordered—ten in total. One billion Berries." Robin opened her smaller chest, revealing ten Dinosaur-type Devil Fruits inside.

Pica looked them over and nodded, his deep voice humming, "I only brought 500million this time. Can I owe the rest?"

Robin frowned slightly, her big eyes turning thoughtfully. After a short pause, she nodded. "All right."

"Thanks! My name's Pica!"

To everyone's surprise, Pica broke into a goofy smile.

"Mm, nice to meet you."

The two exchanged their goods.

"I'll be heading back now." Robin grasped the two chests—both almost bigger than she was—and started to turn around.

"W–wait!" Pica called out in a hurry.

Robin frowned, puzzled, and looked back at him.

"I… I was wondering if I could be your friend?" Pica stammered, looking nervous. His face flushed red, and steam almost seemed to rise from his head.

Robin blinked, slightly taken aback, her small mouth parting in surprise—adorably so.

"You'll have to ask my captain about that," she replied softly.

Then she turned and transformed once again into a massive Wind God Pterosaur. With one mighty flap of her fleshy wings, she soared into the sky, carrying the two huge boxes with her until she disappeared beyond the horizon.

"I'll come back again!"

Pica's booming voice followed her into the clouds.

Then, that goofy smile returned to his face—so much that the surrounding sailors were left dumbfounded. Was this really their fearsome Lord Pica?

But when Pica turned around, his eyes went cold again as he swept his gaze over them. "What are you looking at? Set sail. We're heading back."

"Y–yes, Lord Pica!"

All of them shrank their necks and obeyed immediately.

Soon, the merchant ship slowly departed.

Inside Rain Dinners.

Standing on the balcony, Jiang Qize gazed out over the sandy cityscape, his thoughts already turning to how he would spend this money.

Once Robin returned, he would have at least a billion Berries in hand—a fortune large enough to cultivate a fighter on the level of a Marine admiral.

A pirate crew with an admiral-class powerhouse… that was what it meant to be a true great pirate crew in this world. The rest were just cannon fodder.

Buzz~

His ears twitched at the sound, and a smile appeared on his face.

Looking up, he saw the Wind God Pterosaur form of little Robin flying toward him from afar, clutching two enormous chests.

A few seconds later—

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…

The huge wings stirred up gales of wind and sand before Robin landed gracefully, reverting to human form.

"Captain, I'm back~!"

Her sweet voice called out.

Jiang Qize jumped down from the balcony, reached out, and rubbed her small head. "Good work."

"Not tired at all," Robin said with a happy squint, clearly enjoying the moment.
