Chapter 3 Tribulation
Bai Clan
Bai Bing slammed his palm onto the table.
"What did you just say? Peak Spirit Adept realm? In just ten months? Impossible—this must be because of that manual."
The servant hesitated before speaking cautiously.
"Headmaster… isn't this growth too fast? With so many people hunting him, he still escapes again and again. I believe someone is secretly helping Wuxian."
Bai Bing sneered.
"So what if someone is protecting him? Who in this region would dare oppose the Bai Clan? Continue the pursuit."
The servant sighed inwardly and bowed.
"Yes, Headmaster."

Li Clan
A servant hurried in and bowed deeply.
"Headmaster, news from our spies in the Bai Clan."
Li Bingyin raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? Speak."
The servant swallowed nervously.
"It's about Wuxian. He has already reached the Peak Spirit Adept realm."
Li Bingyin's eyes shrank violently.
"What?! Peak Spirit Adept?!"
He clenched his fists as killing intent leaked out.
"Search for him immediately. No matter the cost."
It must be the manual, he thought darkly. At this rate, if he enters the Qi Pioneer realm, he will surpass us completely. I've already offended him—this matter must be resolved now. I cannot let the Bai Clan obtain that manual.
---
I continued cultivating in the cave as time passed quietly.
Four months later, I opened my eyes and felt the bottleneck pressing down on me.
It's time.
If I followed what the old man instructed, I would be able to step into the Qi Pioneer realm.
Linfeng appeared before me and nodded.
"Looks like the moment has arrived."
I swallowed the spiritual fruits and released the power I had suppressed for months.
Boom—!
Dark clouds gathered overhead as thunder rumbled through the sky.
I stiffened. "What's happening?"
Linfeng frowned.
"Unlucky brat. You've triggered a Third-Grade Heavenly Tribulation."
I clenched my teeth. "What do I need to do?"
"You must endure five thunder strikes. Only then will it end."
I took a deep breath and flew into the sky.
Flash—!
The first bolt descended. I activated the star technique from the manual and met it head-on.
Boom!
My body trembled violently as lightning surged through me, but I endured.
The star technique saved me.
One thunder after another descended.
By the time the fifth strike faded, my vision darkened and my body collapsed. Linfeng caught me and carried me away.

At the tribulation site
Cultivators rushed over, sensing the disturbance.
But the area was empty.
Bai Bing frowned.
"Whoever endured that tribulation… even I wouldn't survive it at the Spirit Adept realm."
Li Bingyin's gaze darkened.
It must be him.
"If that boy truly survived a heavenly tribulation," he muttered, "then he cannot be allowed to live."
Both men exchanged a glance.
They reached the same conclusion.
Wuxian must die.
