Fulen looked at the naive Circus girl and felt a bit dramatic for a moment, but still replied calmly, "Yes, I'd like to see a magic show."
During their exchange, the girl had successfully recovered her astute and capable nature and asked efficiently, "Oh, I see, Sir. Our next magic show is in an hour. Would you mind coming back later to enjoy it?"
Fulen did not answer immediately but instead asked, "Then, how long does a magic show usually last?"
The girl skillfully replied, "Usually an hour and a half, rarely longer."
After calculating the time, it was currently around nine in the morning. He could pretty much confirm that the magic show he could watch would start at ten and end at eleven-thirty. Figuring he had nothing much to do, Fulen agreed.
However, Fulen still asked, "So, does the performance start at ten?"
The girl glanced at the time and replied, "Yes."
But then she realized that it was already past nine, not too close to ten, but certainly not far either.
So the seemingly not-very-skilled receptionist quickly added, "Oh, Sir, our Circus has many lounges for guests to rest in. If you'd like to rest in the Circus before the magic show begins, please follow me."
This speech was clearly trained, delivered by the ticket seller with a smoother pace and a vastly different demeanor from her earlier naive one.
Fulen watched the young lady quickly lead him forward, her actions clearly speaking louder than words, and he quickly followed behind her.
"Miss, if you lead me to the lounge, what if other guests arrive?" Fulen asked the question that interested him after quickening his pace to catch up with the ticket seller.
People whose actions are faster than their brains often encounter various problems they cannot solve during the process, just like this Circus attendant.
Fulen watched the pretty young girl widen her eyes slightly, showing a bewildered expression, and she hesitated before saying, "No, um... that's right, based on my many years of experience, not many people come to watch the Circus or magic shows at this time. They shouldn't be that coincidental."
After speaking, the young girl turned around and led Fulen forward at a much faster pace than before, almost a jog, while mumbling, "Sir, you are truly a gentleman with too many thoughts, but as long as we get to the lounge quickly, waiting guests won't have to wait too long."
Glancing at Fulen, who was still walking slowly with a playful expression on his face, the young girl's cheeks puffed up, and then she looked up at Fulen and said, "Sir, you can't even keep up with a girl's speed, can you?"
Fulen looked down at this girl, who had instinctively used a taunt, and seeing the liveliness and innocence in her eyes, he couldn't help but recall his sister on Earth. A smile unconsciously appeared on his face, and he said, "Alright, I'll keep up."
The young girl looked suspiciously at the man behind her, who was taller than average, and the somewhat lewd smile she perceived on his face, but she didn't say much, only quickened her pace towards the lounge.
As a normal adult male, Fulen naturally wouldn't be left behind by a little girl, so the two quickly arrived inside the lounge.
"Please come in. Look, there are paper cups here, this pot has coffee, and this pot has tea. Oh, right, over here is sugar you can add to coffee and tea. As for milk, please forgive our Circus's simplicity..."
After briefly describing the facilities in the lounge, the young girl quickly left the lounge.
After listening to the girl's description, Fulen always felt that she was disdaining him, but he was completely bewildered, so Fulen asked uncertainly, "Miss?"
Fulen saw the girl's body tremble suddenly, and after she turned around with some hesitation and reluctance, her face bore a very obvious fake smile. Fulen seemed to be able to find disgust towards him beneath that smile, and the girl asked sharply, "What happened?"
Still confused, but Fulen knew he couldn't get a truthful answer, so he said, "Nothing, Miss. Thank you for your help. Please make yourself at home."
After the girl said "It's nothing," she quickly closed the Door.
Fulen muttered to himself, "That's strange. Am I really so ugly that it's beyond belief? No, I'm not very handsome, but I'm certainly average. What on earth is going on?"
Ignoring Fulen's confusion, let's look at the girl's actions.
After the girl closed the Door, she leaned against it for a moment, then straightened up as if shocked, took a few quick steps, and recalling Fulen's smile and his subsequent questions that were clearly making trouble out of nothing, she remembered Sohier's instructions to her.
"Darlene, you must remember, we girls are physically weaker than men when we're out. Our Circus encounters all sorts of people every day, and who knows what kind of perverts might take an interest in a young girl like you. You must remember, when a man smiles and then pays more attention to you, you need to be careful. The best thing to do is to stay away from him. If he tries to touch you, remember to run away, and then..."
The girl named Darlene thought of the beautiful girl's smile when she spoke to her, and also her tightly clenched fists. She deeply etched these words into her mind and became even more dependent on Sohier.
Fulen added some sugar to the coffee he had poured out. The coffee, needless to say, was cold.
If Fulen had stayed in this world for a few more months, he might not have been interested in drinking cold coffee, but it was clear that Fulen had only been in this world for less than a month, so his taste had not become more discerning at all.
However, even though Fulen had only been drinking coffee for less than a month, he could still clearly feel that the Circus's coffee was not as good as the coffee at his home or the restaurants he had stayed at.
Fulen scratched his head, thinking he might just be a novice in the coffee world and perhaps didn't know how to drink coffee very well. Anyway, on Earth, he also found those highly praised pure coffees extremely unpalatable, so he drank the coffee in the lounge with relish.
Of course, a very important reason was also that the coffee was free, so he might as well drink it.
When the time was almost up, Fulen, who had finished most of the coffee, finally concluded that there was indeed no Flash in this coffee.
