Chapter 57 - Proceeding

The voice of the black-clad man with the iron mask didn't sound as cold as his attire; he simply said in a very normal tone, "Well then, let the gathering officially begin now."

Fulen looked at his friends around him. Erich and Karl didn't need to be mentioned, but even Kvedo remained silent. When he saw Fulen looking over, he just smiled and gestured for Fulen to quietly observe the development of this gathering.

The attendant near the host handed the first paper to the host, who glanced at it and then said, "Today's first transaction is a request for an Apprentice potion formula."

However, at this Extraordinary Gathering, only two or three people were conversing in low whispers, and the entire room was quiet.

The host was clearly accustomed to this. After waiting for more than ten seconds and seeing no one respond, he skipped this transaction and continued, "Then let's begin the second transaction: 20 milliliters of Lava Octopus blood."

This time, someone did respond, "I have Lava Octopus blood, but only 5 milliliters."

The host paused at this point, waiting for the person who made the request to step forward and inquire about the price. Sure enough, a masked person wearing a hooded trench coat stood up and asked in a deliberately hoarse voice, "How much?"

The person who proactively offered the transaction took the initiative and asked, "This blood is worth 100 gold pounds, but if you are willing to tell me the potion formula for the Beyonder material you need, I am not only willing to give you this blood but also an additional 140 pounds."

Hearing that this person wanted his potion formula, the cautious trader was unwilling to give his potion formula to others and said, "No need, 100 pounds. I am still able to pay."

Shaking his head with some regret, the person who wanted a potion formula quickly handed a test tube containing Lava Octopus blood to the attendant, and the person who proposed the transaction also handed the money needed for his transaction and the money to be paid to the host to the attendant.

The host watched the two items of transaction placed before him, took out a golden ring, and with a sweep of golden light from the ring, the host calmly said, "This transaction is established."

Subsequently, a transaction from the Beyonder world was completed.

As the number of transactions increased, so did the murmurs below. Kvedo could no longer suppress his desire to speak and smiled at his companions, saying, "How about it? This Extraordinary Gathering isn't bad, right?"

Fulen nodded and said, "Yes, it perfectly matches my impression of an Extraordinary Gathering: mysterious, and full of extraordinary materialss."

Karl didn't speak, but his hand unconsciously touched the pocket containing the Beyonder material. Erich looked at Karl's appearance and said, "Don't worry, there's no problem with the formula or the materials. I'll go with you to your home, and I'll help you concoct the potion."

Karl nodded gratefully.

Seeing that his friends had no desire to speak, Kvedo, unwilling to let the atmosphere remain dull, said, "Let's settle these things then. Oh, Fulen, Erich, don't you want to buy some Beyonder materials or extraordinary materialss?"

After speaking, Kvedo gestured for his friends to look at the items being transacted.

The host just happened to say the last sentence: "...This extraordinary materials is equivalent to a Sequence 8, but it only lasts for half a year. The price is 300 pounds, or a Sequence 9 potion formula, any Pathway."

Fulen didn't listen carefully to the details of the transaction and asked with great interest, "What kind of extraordinary materials is it? I didn't hear it just now."

Kvedo gestured with his hand, forming the shape of a sword: "It's a knight's sword. Its ability is to release flames, but it's not very powerful, only equivalent to a Sequence 8."

Fulen vaguely felt that something was off, but he couldn't pinpoint what it was, so he just smiled and said, "It's a good extraordinary materials, but unfortunately, I don't need it, and my financial situation doesn't allow for it."

Kvedo smiled, having already anticipated this: "That's true. I didn't expect there to be an Extraordinary Gathering today. I originally just wanted to take you to an Extraordinary Bazaar."

While Fulen and Kvedo were talking, this extraordinary materials was fiercely contested, with three or four people bidding on it.

As the bidding continued, many people gave up, leaving only a burly man with a scarred face and a tall build who won the extraordinary materials for 500 pounds.

Karl looked at the burly man who brazenly revealed his face and asked curiously, "Don't the people seeking transactions here try to conceal their identities? How can they be so careless and ostentatious?"

Kvedo saw that his friend, who was new to the Beyonder world, had this question and smiled, saying, "Although we have become Beyonders, at the end of the day, we Sequence 9s, and even Sequence 8s, are just humans not much stronger than normal people. In fact, some Beyonders can't even beat an ordinary person who is skilled in fighting techniques."

"And this person," Kvedo pointed in the direction of the burly man, leaned forward, and lowered his voice, "is a mercenary, and a regular here. Many people know him; they all call him 'Baldy.' He's said to be a Sequence 9, but he's a practical Beyonder. The three of us together might not even be his match."

Fulen then remembered that he still needed to exercise his body, at least to be able to run fast, so he asked Kvedo, "Kvedo, do you know of any places where I can exercise so I don't get knocked down so easily by others?"

Kvedo saw that Fulen had such a thought and was not surprised, as he had indeed created some sense of crisis for Fulen. He shook his head and said, "I know such places, but to be honest, no matter how much we exercise, we won't be a match for Beyonders like 'Baldy'."

Fulen was not surprised, after all, Pathways like Warrior and Hunter focused all their Beyonder power on physical and combat abilities. It was naturally impossible for a squishy mage like himself to compare with others, but Fulen still didn't want to give up: "I don't want to fight others head-on. I just hope I can run away in front of such Beyonders. After all, if you can't win, you still have to be able to run."

Seeing that Fulen was determined to improve his physical fitness, Kvedo thought it was a good thing and said, "Okay, you can go to the villa at 37 Golden Wutong Street in Heink District. Tell him you were introduced by Kvedo. As long as you pay enough money, you can get physical training there."

Karl looked at Fulen making these arrangements and initially wanted to go along, but Erich said, "We Readers don't have the ability to improve our physical fitness, so it's better to first delve deeper into our Beyonder abilities. As for physical fitness, it's not our first choice. Hmm, Fulen, I won't try to persuade you."

And Kvedo, who was standing by, instinctively opened his mouth but didn't say much more.
