Chapter 41: Confessions Under the Moon 🌙💫
The night air was cold, but Jay felt a different chill—the one that comes when your heart is on the edge of breaking and healing at the same time. She paced by her window, staring at the city lights like they might give her the answer she couldn't find herself.
Her phone buzzed. Keifer.
"We need to talk. Now."
Jay's heart jumped. 💓 She typed back almost immediately:
"Where?"
"The park. The old fountain."
Minutes later, she arrived, coat wrapped tight around her shoulders. There he was, standing under the dim streetlights, looking impossibly tense and impossibly… him. 😔
"You came," he said, voice low, almost vulnerable.
"I did," she replied, trying to keep her voice steady, but it shook anyway. "What's this about?"
Keifer ran a hand through his hair. "This… everything tonight. The fight, the distance… I can't handle it anymore, Jay."
Jay's chest tightened. "Neither can I."
He took a step closer, eyes locking on hers. "I hate fighting with you. I hate feeling like I'm losing you over stupid things… over pride… over me being me."
Jay's lips trembled. She swallowed hard. "Keifer… I…"
"I don't want to fight anymore. I don't want us to be lost in our own mess. I…" His voice dropped, almost a whisper. "I want you. Only you. Always you." 💖
Jay's heart could barely keep up. All the walls she built around herself, all the careful caution—none of it mattered anymore. She took a deep breath and said it, her voice trembling but full of courage:
"Keifer… I don't want to hide it either. I… I want us to be together. 💕 Can we… can we be together? Like… officially?"
For a moment, the world stopped. Then… the corners of Keifer's mouth turned into the brightest, most unbelievable grin she'd ever seen. 😍
"You… you mean it?" he asked, disbelief and joy tangled in his voice.
"I do. More than anything," Jay said softly, tears brimming.
He pulled her into a tight hug, laughter and relief spilling out of him in equal measure. "YES! FINALLY! You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear that! I'm so… so happy right now! 😭💖"
Jay laughed through her tears, the tension and anger of the night dissolving into pure, messy, beautiful relief. "You're ridiculous," she whispered, but her heart felt light.
"I know I am," he said, still holding her, "but you love me anyway, right?" 😏
Jay shook her head, smiling through her tears. "Yeah… yeah, I do."
They stayed like that for a long moment, letting the night witness the start of something they'd both been too stubborn to admit. 💫
But just as Jay thought she could finally breathe, her phone buzzed… a message from an unknown number:
"Enjoy your moment. Tomorrow, everything changes." 😳
Jay looked up at Keifer, heart skipping again. "What…?"
Keifer's hand tightened around hers. "Whatever it is… we face it. Together." 💪
And as the fountain sparkled under the moonlight, neither of them noticed the shadows creeping closer, waiting for the storm that was about to hit. 🌑

Btw my last exam was on Monday but some construction work is going on so that's why now my last exam is on Wednesday, On Monday and Tuesday we have holiday and also u know what my last exam is physics which is on Wednesday (18 March) and on that same day it's my birthday uhh I hate physics and now it's on My birthday.
