Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"What were Alex and Fiona talking about outside the restaurant?" Sabena asked as she wrote down the names Felix had mentioned.

"At that time, Rebecca and I were in the restaurant with Aiden. We didn't follow them out. So we didn't hear their conversation. Our table was quite far from the restaurant's entrance. But from what we saw, the conversation seemed serious. I'm sure Fiona didn't agree with them bringing us along with their gang to film the paranormal they wanted to do," Felix replied, stumbling, What happened still vividly in his mind.

"Aren't you all afraid to do this kind of work? What is the real purpose of you all in this mansion?" Sabena asked again.

"According to him, his gang is not the Find Ghost gang. Aiden said he has his own YouTube channel. On that channel he uploads videos that he records when he does paranormal activities in places that people say are scary."

"Did they do research on ghosts?"

 Felix shook his head.

"They just like to record in places that are said to be 'scary', just to experience the horror themselves and to prove whether the place is haunted or not."

"What's the name of their YouTube channel?"

"If I'm not mistaken, Ghost Hunter."

Sebena wrote the name of the channel on her notebook. She reached for the walkie-talkie on the table next to her.

"Miss Sabena here, is Corporal Shane here?"

"Corporal Shane is here, right Miss Sebena?"

"Corporal Shane, can you come to the back canopy for a moment?" Sabena asked.

 "Okay, miss," Shane replied.

"The other person you said hadn't come yet, did he come?"

Sabena continued her investigative question and answer session.

 Felix nodded.

 "Miss Sabena?"

 Shane suddenly appeared.

Seeing Shane there, Sabena tore a piece of paper from her notebook with the name of the YouTube channel Felix had mentioned written on it and handed it to the man.

"Give this note to Mr. Henry. Talk to him, this is the name of the victim's group's YouTube channel. Tell him to watch the videos on that channel," Sabena asked.

"But, Inspector Henry is still in the mansion."

"In that case, you just watch the videos on the YouTube channel that I wrote on the paper. Later, let Inspector Henry know what's on the channel, okay?"

"Okay, Miss Sabena," Shane nodded and left the canopy.

Sabena returned to face Felix who was still trembling with fear. But it was not like before.

"What's the name of the senior who came late?" Sabena asked, continuing the interrupted interrogation session.

"His name is Austin. We call him big brother Austin, because he's our senior. He's a student from the Faculty of Sports Science."

Sabena recorded Felix's story, all the victims, including the man in front of her, were university students near this area.

"What discussed in that meeting?" Sabena asked.

Felix took a deep breath and let it out with a sigh. He took a moment to continue his story.

Henry saw the victim's body still lying on the floor. LED spotlights had been installed throughout most of the mansion to make it easier for them to investigate.

"The victim died from being hit on the head with a blunt object," said Henry as he looked at the condition of the victim, who was a woman.

"In addition, there were three marks like... scratches, on the victim's neck. All the victims had the same marks," said his assistant, a corporal named Hector.

Henry squatted down and looked at the mark Hector had mentioned earlier using the flashlight in his hand. It clearly looked like a scratch on the victim's neck.

"Before Mr. Henry arrived, I and several other officers were comparing tonight's murder to the murder case that occurred in 2004 in this mansion," Hector said even though he wasn't asked. He just wanted to share the information he had obtained.

Henry looked up, looking at Hector who was standing in front of him.

 "What did you get?"

"After we reviewed the case reports from 10 years ago and tonight's case, every person died in the same place," Hector replied.

Henry looked at his assistant as his brain quickly thought. Was it a coincidence or was it planned? His mind began to ask the question.

"Do you have the murder case file?"

 "Yes, I have that file."

Henry stood up and gave the forensics department room to continue their work. The steps began to be arranged to leave the second room on the upper floor. As he walked towards the stairs, he also saw one of the victims found dead by the swimming pool being investigated by the forensics department.

 "Sir!"

The call made Henry and Hector look towards the stairs. Shane was seen climbing the steps towards them.

"The Criminal Investigation Division has obtained the identities of all the victims. Including the identities of those who are still alive. Everything is down there," explained Shane.

 "Okay."

Henry continued walking down towards the main canopy near the main entrance of this dilapidated mansion. Once there, he saw all the victims' identification cards. There were five people including Felix. The identification cards were looked at one by one.

"We found that all the victims were university students near this area," said Shane.

"In addition, we found 3 video cameras around this mansion," Shane informed as he reached for the box containing the video camera.

Henry frowned as he looked at the video camera in the box that Shane was holding.

"Shane, I want you to transfer all the video files in the memory card of this video camera to the laptop. I'll be watching them in a moment," Henry instructed, seriously.

"Oh, yes sir. Earlier, Ms. Sabena asked me to look at the victim's YouTube channel. After I watched the videos they uploaded to YouTube, they had uploaded all their previous recordings of paranormal activities to share with their followers," said Shane.

Henry looked down, looking at the laptop screen under the canopy. He saw one of the video recordings on the victim's YouTube channel. A video recording that had been made in Silverton was playing. His heart was becoming more and more convinced, the victim had come to this mansion to record paranormal activity. He had only watched for a few minutes.

"It's okay, you investigate further as needed. I want to see Ms. Sabena for a moment," Henry said and left the canopy.

All sorts of assumptions started playing in his mind at this moment. What was important was that Henry wanted to know the exact number of victims involved in tonight's murder case.

Sabena waited for a long time for the man in front of her to continue his story. Felix was still silent as if trying to remember something, or perhaps finding the strength to continue his story.

"Are you okay or not?" Sabena asked, worried if Felix was silent for too long.

 "Sorry to bother you."

Henry appeared there suddenly and changed the calm atmosphere to a little tense. Sabena stood up to give Henry space to interrogate Felix.

"Is it true that these are all your friends?" Henry asked, seriously as he placed the victim's identification card on the table next to Felix.

Felix's body jerked in surprise at Henry's rather rude question. He looked at each of the identification cards arranged side by side on the table next to him. When he saw Rebecca's identification card, he continued to cry sadly.

"I need your confirmation, Felix. Are there only five of you?" Henry asked, seriously.

He needs to ascertain the exact number of victims involved in tonight's murder case.

Felix let out a sad cry. He looked at every identification card available including his own.

 "We came six," answered Felix.

Henry and Sabena looked at each other. They were both surprised by Felix's answer.

 "Who else is missing?"

 "Fiona.. we call her Fiona."

 "Where is she now?"

"I don't know. It was dark, we couldn't see anything happening. I just heard voices. That's what happens when all the lights suddenly go out."

Felix was scared and traumatized again when what had happened a few hours ago suddenly flashed through his mind. Rebecca's screams could still be heard clearly.

 Henry felt doubtful.

"Don't be, you're the killer?" said Henry just guessing.

"No! I didn't kill anyone. Not me! Not me!" Felix shouted, starting to get hysterical.

"Mr. Henry, I think it's best for me to handle this boy. Force will only make the situation worse. I'll try to interrogate him slowly and ask him to tell me what happened from the beginning," Sabena interrupted when she saw Henry starting to provoke Felix.

Henry let out a rough breath. the identification card on the table in everyone's reach. For a long time he looked at Felix doubtfully.

"I want to instruct the others to find the victim named Fiona. Who knows, she might still be alive and could reveal who the real killer is? I'm sure she must have run away from the real killer," said Henry.

He managed to glance at Felix before leaving the canopy.

Sabena just nodded and sat back down in front of Felix. She waited for the man to calm down his crying. A feeling of sympathy welled up in her heart when she saw the man crying. It was clear that there was a glimmer of fear behind his eyes. She reached for the bottle of water on the table next to her.

 "Drink?" Sabena invited.

 Felix shook his head.

"I apologize for the police officer's behavior earlier. I hope you don't take his words to heart. I am here to always trust you.

Sabena tried to win over emotions and try to steal Felix's trust again. For now, she couldn't make any accusations against Felix as long as she didn't know the real story. The water bottle in her hand was placed back on the table next to her.

Anyone could be a suspect. Maybe the man in front of her was the real killer. And maybe Felix was the survivor of the killer. All possibilities could still happen at this moment.

"Can you continue the story?" Sabena asked when she saw Felix's crying starting to subside and his emotions starting to stabilize.

Felix wiped his tears and looked at the woman in front of him for a long time. He was still gathering the strength to continue the story.
