Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"Where are these people, Beca? They're having a night meeting. It's like our country never has daylight," Felix grumbled earlier.

Rebecca's steps in front of him were followed.

Felix reluctantly agrees to accompany Rebecca to join the Monte Cristo Mansion raid with their seniors. If Rebecca wasn't her best friend, he would never agree even if he died.

"You, you've been talking nonsense all this time, haven't you? Luckily, someone gave you a meeting location at a roadside restaurant, you know? If someone invited you to meet at a cemetery, wouldn't that make your life even more miserable?" Rebecca replied as she walked towards a roadside restaurant not far from where she parked her car.

 Felix growled angrily.

They looked left and right. After making sure they were safe, they walked across the road in front of them towards the restaurant that had been their meeting place that night.

Arriving in front of the restaurant, Rebecca craned her neck to look for her senior brother named Alex. She was really excited to meet the man.

"Hah, that's the guy!" said Rebecca, excitedly, pointing her index finger at Alex and the man's two other friends who were sitting inside the restaurant.

Rebecca and Felix walked towards the man.

"Err, Brother Alex, right?" asked Rebecca, smiling shyly.

Alex, who was facing the laptop screen, immediately looked up. His two other best friends also looked at Rebecca.

 "Rebecca?"

Rebecca nodded in agreement with a smile.

 "Sit down," Alex invited.

"Hmm... this is my friend who wants to join me later. His name is Felix," said Rebecca, introducing Felix.

Felix introduced himself to Alex while shaking hands.

"Two more of my brother's friends. The women is like a man, her name is Fiona, and the one is Aiden. If you have ever seen our fun videos on YouTube, you must know these two people." said Alex, introducing his friends with a rather rude-sounding sentence.

Fiona glared at Alex. Furious when she was called a man.

They shook hands and got to know each other.

"Sorry if we're late," Rebecca said with a smile.

Fiona and Aiden looked at each other. They were immediately greeted with confusion, did the two juniors in front of them really dare to join their group?

"It's okay, there's still one more person who hasn't arrived yet. If we follow, many people want to join. But when we tell people that the paranormal activity has to be done at night, many people pull out. Only you two and another senior of ours are the only ones who dare," Alex explained to them.

Felix's saliva sank after hearing the time they had chosen to investigate the paranormal activity they were going to do. He looked at Rebecca as if she didn't care. Because the man she liked was at the table.

The restaurant wasn't too crowded. The waiter came to take Rebecca and Felix's orders. They both just ordered iced coffee.

"What are you majoring in?" asked Fiona, idly waiting for another one who still hadn't arrived.

"I took communications and media," Rebecca answered.

 "Me, Fashion Design," Felix replied.

Fiona laughed sarcastically and then turned to her smartphone.

Rebecca and Felix looked at each other, heartbroken by the sarcastic laughter.

"Do you think you guys would dare to follow us?" Fiona asked, arguing.

Rebecca's somewhat 'diva' style and Felix's gentleness made her suspicious of the courage of their two juniors. She was worried that they would only cause trouble later.

Alex glared at Fiona. He could smell what Fiona was saying. Aiden seemed preoccupied with his video camera.

"This place we're going to isn't like the haunted house at the fun fair, you know? This place is rough," Fiona said, sarcastically without looking at anyone.

Keep staring at the smart screen.

"Fiona!" Alex said looking at her best friend with a serious face.

As if giving a non-verbal signal through his eyes telling Fiona to be quiet.

Once again Rebecca and Felix looked at each other. They could already feel their authority being challenged.

"What? I'm just reminding you, I don't want to bring anyone who will cause us trouble. They'll be screaming and screaming in the mansion later. Didn't you tell them that the activity we're about to do is dangerous. We have to be serious, can't we just have fun?" said Fiona, dissatisfied.

"Follow me," Alex replied, then stood up and walked away from the table towards the outside of the restaurant.

Fiona glared angrily at Felix and Rebecca before leaving the table, following Alex's footsteps. The atmosphere became tense.

"I told you, these people won't trust us," Felix whispered in Rebecca's ear.

"How did I know she didn't like us?" Rebecca replied, furious.

The waiter appeared with ice coffee.

"Don't worry. Fiona is like that. she's a little hot-tempered. She always thinks our gang is a ghost hunter gang. But we're just recording videos in those scary places just for fun. You guys will enjoy it later. There's no need to be really scared."

Aiden, who had been silent and focused on the screen of his digital video camera, suddenly spoke up.

"So far, have you and your gang ever recorded any entity sightings?" said Felix, daring to ask when he felt Aiden was someone he could talk to.

"As far as the smoke is concerned, it's true. But the shadow that really looks like the entity, never. After all, our intention is only to record the condition of the house or building. It's not our intention to record the entity. We like to feel the silence and horror that exists in places that we have been to before. If any of the entities are recorded, consider it a blessing."

 Felix nodded in understanding.

"But, there have been students who joined us before who have been hit by a beam and hysterical," Aiden added seriously.

Then Felix swallowed. That was what he was most afraid of.

"Before you agree to join us, you two will be given a complete explanation of the conditions for joining us, tomorrow. If anything happens to you two, whether it's a hysterical ray or death due to the entity present at that location, we will not be responsible."

Felix's saliva was getting harder to swallow. He looked at Rebecca next to him.

"Suddenly I feel like I'm afraid to join, Beca," Felix whispered, starting to feel torn.

"Relax, I'm there, right?" said Rebecca, trying to give strength.

The truth is, she also had doubts about her decision. She only wanted to join the group because of Alex.

 Felix just glared angrily.

"I hope you guys think carefully before joining us. Even though this activity may seem interesting, it's actually dangerous," said Aiden, reminding them again.

 Felix continued to worry.
