"Fine," he says, nodding slowly. "I need to be completely honest with you, Sweetheart. I've been walking on eggshells around you because I have absolutely no clue how to handle women. My entire life, I've gotten everything I wanted without question.
"I've been trying to figure you out, but you throw me completely off balance. You're this stunning little princess who has the power to get anything she desires, and I don't understand how to act around someone like you. It's terrifying.
"All I can think about is how far out of my league you are. Then you went and defended me to my father, telling him how incredible I am, and I can't comprehend what you see in me. I don't know how to handle someone being as proud of me as you appear to be."
