Irina's POV
Mack, Lauren, and Bryan shared a meaningful glance between them.
"You people really are—" My voice dropped low, but every word carried unmistakable authority. "Incredibly foolish."
Even without my careful planning, Wilson would be monitoring public sentiment closely. There wasn't a chance in hell I'd end up behind bars.
Bryan hadn't anticipated my unwavering resolve.
Hatred blazed in his eyes. "Fine. Then we'll all burn together."
"Perfect." I let out a cold laugh. "I'll see you at the precinct."
My response was exactly what Bryan had been hoping for. He rolled his eyes, flashing a victorious grin.
He hadn't been idle these past few years. The Maplewood Division was packed with his people. Bryan was certain that once we reached the station, I wouldn't slip away.
He whispered under his breath, "I'll just toss her in the same cell as that cocky bastard from the other day."
